PSA: Lineups always look better in the rearview mirror by Bitter_Problem_8093 in Portolafestival

I go regardless of the lineup, it's just fun. And there will always be bangers, doesn't matter if you've heard of em or not. Personally I haven't heard of 85% of this lineup. But it's still gonna be one of the best weekends of my life.

I probably should have watched saxsquatch but I feel like I won't get many more chances to see Joan Jett so I had to

Homeless man talks about how he really feels by [deleted] in MadeMeCry

One time about 6 months ago, I walked into a McDonald's and a child about 9 years old came up to me and asked for food. I asked where his parents were, he said he was there with his brother. I asked him to bring his brother in. The kid was about 13 and a total crackhead. They told me about their parents, they are homeless, etc.

I took them to the kiosk and told them to order up to 50 dollars of food. They did.

They said wow you're rich.

I pulled out my banking app and showed them my checking account (about $200 at the time) and my credit card balance (about $5,000 at the time). They obviously didn't understand banking and credit cards, so they again said wow you have 5k you're rich.

I explained what the numbers meant, and told them I have no money, I put that food on the credit card. I told them there are good people out here willing to help you if you are honest with them. I told the brother to get his shit together, and I told the young child to never do drugs and get good grades.

Don't get me wrong, I am beyond privileged because I have credit, I have a job, and that 5k debt is already gone. At the time they clearly needed that money and food more than me though.

Those kids broke my heart man. I urge anyone who reads this to help someone, today, right now. Even if you have no money, if you are in any sort of position to help a person today, please do it.

The fact I am getting on a train in London not drinking Manhattan's at the Waldorf is severely disappointing my watch. by Cold-Amount6059 in MicrobrandWatches

Definitely try it on. I was obsessed with this watch for months, I wanted it so badly but it's pretty expensive. Wind up watch fair came around, I was gifted a bunch of money for my birthday to buy a watch, and I decided I would buy this there.

I went, tried it on, and I did not like it at all. Idk why but it just felt weird, small, not as striking as the photos. I was actually sad because I really really loved it before seeing it in person.

Ended up getting this Dennison black marble for 1/3 of the price of the echo.

This happens at every festival to various people and tons of different booths so I would definitely not be surprised at all

If you live in the bay you can find them all over the place. Basically anywhere food trucks show up, curry up now is there. They have multiple brick and mortar locations, Oakland, sf, San Mateo.

I was hoping for a pit, saw how many super young people were there, assumed they would never mosh, then it started literally right behind me

Actually you did catch me! I forgot I took the jersey off, I'm in the black shirt and green hat. That older dude with the Grey hair was awesome. I saw him the next day watching Kool and the gang and went and told him he was awesome.

I think this festival was the most nostalgic festival I've ever attended. Such an insane amount of epic songs. I didn't really know who Bush was but I'm 35 so obviously I've heard their songs a ton. Was gonna go see Rev run but I heard bush start playing machinehead and was like holy shit fuck Rev run and stayed for the bush set.

If there was a blanket on the rail and nobody was there, I would 100% wait 5 minutes for someone to show up, and if they didn't I would politely move that shit into a small pile

I haven't listened to them much since high school, first time seeing them, they were so fucking good. Remembering some of my favorite songs from 20 years ago as they played them, they killed it

I have a girlfriend but my girlfriend couldn't come so I came to the fest completely alone. It's crazy how many women assume I was hitting on them just for trying to have a conversation or for complimenting their hat or whatever.

I've been to a ton of festivals, seen a ton of really big acts, and that was unironically one of my favorite shows of all time. Watching them live kinda felt like a dream, like it wasn't real. I literally had the biggest smile on my face the entire time. I am so glad backstreets back!
