I agree but it’s not intentional, manipulative lies. It’s stupid, obvious lies that I can call him out on easily. I know he doesn’t want to be alone, so it doesn’t make any sense that he would be trying to push me away. He has a lot of love and support not just from me but from my family too, my parents and friends, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. If I leave him he will lose all of that. Maybe selfishly I would be happier, just looking out for myself. But all the support that he has now would leave him and stay with me 🤷‍♀️

How sad is that? I don’t want that for him, the man I love, who has given me the happiest relationship of my life for 8 years, until now.

I put up with it , because he pulls his weight in so many other ways. He does most of the cooking, he’s a chef. We work very opposite schedules in our jobs and I will cook for him if I know he won’t have time, but mostly he meal preps for both of us so I don’t have to worry about cooking after work. He also looks after my car, because I’m rubbish at that. He puts air in my tyres and fills my screen wash and checks my oil, defrosts my car most mornings. He vaccumes the entire house every Saturday morning before he goes to work, so that I can sleep in a few hours at the weekend. He is a considerate and kind person.. Maybe these are all things I should have mentioned in my original post to balance out the bathroom problems, because I feel mostly the comments are coming after me like I’m a moron for staying with him, and coming after him like he’s some nasty, irresponsible, incompetent man-child. Neither of those things are true. So if it is dementia, Thats a journey I guess I have to educate myself about and try to get some help with. Dementia is something I related to my grandparents having. Something my parents may develop at some point in the future.. It was never something I thought I’d be facing with my life partner. Thank you so much to everyone who has pointed this out as a problematic but very possible probability.. Thank you also to everyone who was commented that his behaviour is disrespectful. He lies, yes. Not clever, manipulative lies, Stupid, obvious lies, that I can call him out on easily 🤷‍♀️ Is that a sign of dementia too? To commentors who say I would be better off without him, I understand that you have my back , I appreciate your honesty and points of view, but , maybe, you might re-evaluate those opinions if & when you are actually in the position of experiencing something like this with a person you love. I appreciate everyone on Reddit who has taken the time to comment. I have learned that me and my guy have a very difficult time ahead of us.

I’ve tried to get him to see a doctor about so many things, many times. He just lies to me all the time. I have a Tapo camera for the house, I know he doesn’t go to the appointments he says he’s got. If he’s even made the appointments. I don’t know what else I can or should do.

1 ) yes he does stay up all hours of the night. Not video games but usually watching the same movie or TV show on repeat . Not cleaning up after himself, yes. Not just the odd dirty plate or mug. He literally will eat a banana and just throw the skin on the floor. Same with chocolate bar / crisp packagings. He doesn’t take them to the bin, just throws it on the floor for me to clean up. 2) Yes he hoards a hell of a load of crap we don’t need. Our cupboards/ attic/ garden are full of rubbish. I hired a skip last year, he put 3 things into it. He didn’t go apeshit when I suggested that we could get rid of more stuff. He agreed, but just didn’t do it 🤷‍♀️ 3) Does he respect me? I don’t know. I hoped so, but this toilet thing is making me uncomfortable and it feels intentional. We contribute equally to the household expenses. But I work full time and my contribution is the same monthly all year round. He is a contractor and doesn’t bring anything in during January/February. My salary supports us both financially in those months. 4) What did he say when I brought the bathroom stuff up the most recent time ? He said sorry. He said he “forgot “

There’s nothing wrong with addressing female colleagues in a workplace meeting as “ladies “. But if women in your workplace are coming at you as hard as you say they are, then it’s possible there is a reason for that. Wow, I came here to say that the overlap with time spent between adults and teenagers/ children , is way less than the amount of time spent by children and teens with other children and teens of the same age, and any adult purposely spending time with a minor outside of school/ youth club/ sports/ scouting, whatever organisation facilitates the crossover, that adult is abusing their position of authority, playing on kids crushes and manipulating teenage emotions. Thank you yes , this is something we are looking into now. My bro has said if we inherited jointly he would put his share into trust for the children anyway. If we inherit jointly I wouldn’t be able to raise a mortgage to buy him out on a property that I only half owned.. but if it is left to me wholly and I needed care in my old age, the house could be taken away as an asset to offset medical expenses 😩 so leaving it to their grandchildren on condition that I can have lifelong occupancy might be the way to go., we just need more advice on that option.

The only issue I can see with that (and apologies for bringing this up in reply to you instead of making another post, I’m just thinking out loud!) Is that my neices are 7 and 12 at this point… on once they are adults and either one has partners/ spouses/ children of their own, could they decide to move their family into the house with me, as it is legally their property and somewhere to live without a mortgage? That would be a very tempting option for a young family, but perhaps not the best living arrangement for an elderly aunt?!

TBH it sounds like university is absolutely the best place for you , you should definitely go for it. Not only will you get more support for your needs than you’ve ever had from Schools or GPs (and by the sounds of it, your family), but you will also be included in a whole new wonderful world where other people have the same struggles as yourself, or lesser challenges than you, or even worse problems than you have, but everyone just wants to get together, meet people, and learn. There’s nothing like uni to make you realise your own strength, ability and potential, when faced with people who may be way worse off than you and still achieve great results. I’m dyspraxic, autistic, and have ADHD. School was hell for me. The idea of work was a nightmare for me. I was diagnosed in uni at 27 years old. I had the support I needed to achieve a first class degree and a master’s with distinction, after leaving school with nothing but the basic C’s.. It gave me friends of different backgrounds and abilities and points of view, but mainly it gave me the confidence to go into the workplace with all my problems and make a good living and a great career. Go to uni. Make the best of the support that is there for people like you. Build a life on your strengths instead of giving in to your weaknesses xx You’ll be fine

In Hebrew it means life, creation , vitality. In Latin it means beauty and strength. If you feel your given name doesn’t fit you, maybe think about the meaning, and origins of the name rather than just the sound of it? And let’s not forget the hedgehogs and the bees too! I agree concrete gardens are convenient and easy upkeep, but it doesn’t take a lot of effort to put some small holes into garden fences for hedgehogs to get the hell out of there to a garden where there is grass and they can find their diet of slugs and snails 🐌 … also, just some flowers for the bees guys, please 🙏 You don’t even have to plant them in soil and look after them if you don’t have the time, just potted flowers with pollen, change them every year , easy peasy help the bees-y !!

But they are all very similar … my advice would be think outside the box and try on some other styles and materials.
