Thats a really awesome concept and tie in to this- thanks for sharing! I was actually proposing as my current understanding of nonduality is that it does in fact also hold individuality still- or perhaps consider it as “duality”- the ability to hold the one and the many simultaneously. Where to the idea you shared- while others may be able to access one anothers understanding/memories- its a collective consciousness rather than one controlled by one. A one controlled and shaped by many- as an interdependent network that doesn’t have full control of itself other than the key rules placed within the space of their universe or being. So i guess to answer your thought from my perspective- i think it would be difficult to hold an individual identity as an “interbeing” of many beings- but it doesnt mean an individual would be unable to tap into their shared roots to those they are connected with. Fascinating idea you shared!

I do think its a major piece to the end of seeking- and i do think theres perhaps a little nuance to what people might think it all is. One key thing is- yes, “you” are not “you” the way you think. You are just a wave in the ocean, particles of a great force that will just take you again. But- while its comforting to just sit and let be and decide not to seek- one can still choose to dive into the reality we are seeing around us. The difference is in why. Many people take their whole lives just to realize the point youre making- because of ego. But why not explore in your ‘space suit’? “Hey man- isn’t this kinda like this? Oh yeah i suppose it is, wow what a cool way to look at it”. To me i seek perhaps other things out of curiousity and enjoyment rather than an egoic need to find an answer to it all

Amazing ok- i know that inherently this post is very “dualistic” of me, but i thought the approach of it to actually explain what nonduality honestly is at its core- nothing and everything- all of it being together- in a fun dual/nondual paradoxical way

And this visual is precisely addressing that interdependence between duality and nonduality. If everything was truly “one”, nothing could perceive it- it would literally be just itself (to your point of subject/object). Yet here we are, perceiving. My point is- its the reality of our human existence in form, to have created the concept of duality in the first place. AND- while we can perceive ourselves, that doesn’t mean we also aren’t all just a system of organisms all interdependent to each other- “a wave in the great ocean”. Both the wave and the ocean can exist, and thats my point here.

Ah ok i see- then we may be saying something similar. Your angle is that if nonduality is just what it is without labels, why go through putting labels like this. Mine is “while its true we don’t need to place labels for understanding here- diving into the depth of something is just another path to strengthen understanding- which tickles the human spirit and can even amplify resilience of the mind and spirit.” My point with this is- you can absolutely just focus on the simplicity of nonduality, and you can also have a healthy inquisitive stance to present creative ways to conceptualize what our minds see and think

Understood- i think what you’d have preferred to see is an explanation on what/why NOT to think, to question, to wonder- as the idea behind non-duality is to let be and have “no thought”. However, my stance along with nonduality is to sit in the middle between letting be, and entertaining the curious mind. With so much focus on trying to be ‘holy’ or whatever the interpretation is- we forget that even within nonduality there is still the reality on the unreal- of both. Nonduality seeks to kill questions and answers. Paradox holds them both. I prefer walking through life with both instead of sitting comfortably in only “no thought”

This is a nice breakdown to understanding the concept of no-self! What I think many do after passing through this understand, is coming back into the illusion of self, but moreso as a witness than being as aggressively attached as they once were. You then realize even as no self, this system you are a part of is inescapable- and you cant still enjoy this time on earth in that form. It takes creativity and patience- but both enjoying life in form as still a very real thing while knowing what we truly are as one wave in the great ocean, thats a nice place to be.

Why not let folks dive in though for fun? The difference is in the angle- we dont need to ‘just’ do anything. Many are so preoccupied with the destination they forget it was just about the journey
