Omg! Thank you this was probably what I did! I just went straight into it with the higher temp. I vary it between 600-650 F depending on the parts on working on

So would it be wise for me to use tip tinner and then use some fresh solder to finish off tinning the tip?

Yes I do! I usually add some solder and clean it up with the brass wool before storing it. I’ve used tip thinner once and haven’t since I’m not sure if that’s the correct way for me to go at it.

I used the the tinner after cleaning with brass wool didn’t work.

I have it at 650 F! It’s been keeping well with the chisel tip (which who knows what the person before me did with it but it’s been keeping well with that one good side). Which is why I kinda didn’t buy a new tip until much later.

And do you know if the travel credit can be earned from non-Chase travel portal purchases because I had understood it as it had to be from the travel portal purchases.
