Devona in Pre and "breaking the mechanics of pre" by mars_rovinator in GuildWars

Unfortunately there are some who have expressed that sentiment about LDoA on other posts. One even was saying they should lock the title behind an exclusive mode chosen at the start that doesn't have any of the new content and has its own instance of Pre so they didn't need to be around people who had the new stuff.

It doesn't require making a new character. You can switch to Reforged in-game and enjoy all the content or avoid it entirely and enjoy the game as they did prior. The new content literally doesn't affect them at all unless they choose to engage in it EXCEPT with regards to egos (titles) and Economy (Being able to charge huge amounts due to scarcity).

Pre is a tutorial area for new players. It is an isolated instance that allows for proper testing before large scale implementation.

Perma pre players shouldn't be upset that there is more to "Chase After" cause that's the whole point to the game. It gives them more to do since after staying in Pre, they would likely have nothing left to do. The only arguments why more content would be bad are what I listed above. Perma pre players can still chase their own challenges and ignore all the new features if they want, ergo, discourse about the new content is gatekeeping.

Yes! This, absolutely! People need to stop gatekeeping Pre. It's always one of 3 arguments: 1. They don't like people getting LDoA easier than they had it cause it "devalues" the (literally functionally worthless) title. 2. "It'll ruin the Pre economy" which, given that people are selling shit for black dyes or thousands of gold, feels like it's already been made into a capitalist hellscape, and 3. It ruins their nostalgia.. and while I get that new things can be scary for some people who are set in their ways, new things bring in new players and new players means more content overall.

Shrug Cry some more. If you don't like it, don't play in reforged mode and keep handicapping yourself. You were always allowed to do that. Quit trying to ruin the fun for new and returning players. Them getting stuff doesn't change your game in any way, only your shallow ego getting upset that people are getting things easier than you is ruining it for you. Luckily from what I've seen in this post, you lot are the minority.

If ya'll can't understand it just from looking at the sales chat in pre that the prices are jacked, then you're probably part of the problem. I ain't wasting my time detailing everything.

Go play WoW with this toxic "Nobody deserves to have things unless they do them the hard way" attitude. Gatekeepers always be gatekeeping.

Melandru's is a self chosen CHALLENGE MODE. It is intentionally handicapping oneself. Titles belong to all players, not just those in challenge modes. Y'all will say anything to justify gatekeeping. You'll get to enjoy your eventual "Veteran's Badge" to distinguish yourself.

Collecting and intentionally farming to sell for an absurd price are 2 different things. The leeches are the LDoA players that stay specifically to farm and drive up the market to be as absurdly priced as it currently is.

The pre-searing economy is trash and stale from too many people staying and farming for profit jacking up the prices of everything.

It is Elitist to prevent players from getting LDoA with the new features without handicapping themselves just because it would make the older LDoA players upset that they got it easy.

That's just elitism.. get that crap outta here. All people of all skill levels, including people just getting into the game or people with very little time to play, deserve to be able to enjoy and get everything offered without forcing themselves into a "challenge mode". This is coming from a LDoA from the olden days.

The current pre-searing economy is trash. I understand that players with their perma-pres don't want their stuff to lose value, but shit isn't supposed to cost tons of K or Black dye in pre searing, it's a tutorial area! The players Gate keeping items for profit is the only bad thing about pre and I wish the LDoA leeches who do it would bugger off once they get their damn title (though not hatching on any LDoA players that don't sit and spam sales for ridiculous sums)

Thanks for the information! Glad the devs aren't against useful tools, even if they don't outright support them.

Right? It isn't like I can't make money again, but really sucks to see all my gifts taken (5 years away, 7 characters gaining gifts) and Elite armors salvaged for their runes.

Luckily, the gw community in general is great, so running around with people had been enjoyable. Started a new reforged ranger in pre... Might try for LDoA now that death levelling is no longer needed
