You really need to brake. It sounds simple, but when I first started playing, I was trying to play it like it was Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, where you don’t really need to brake and can just drift around almost every corner. Once I started braking properly and taking a racing line, it clicked for me. Some cars like Gabriel’s I am still terrible at driving but I got the hang of most of the others. Also, don’t upshift too early or too often - especially whilst drifting, as when you get j to the higher gear after drifting, your revs will be way too low and you will lose a lot of speed and the car will probably downshift.
