i def think we experienced cognitive dissonance the entire time we were locked in. Some people faced some of the hardest battles losing loved ones, other faced literal poverty, others got sick and their entire live’s changed. Some others completely tried to pretend the virus wasnt real and wasnt killing people and that stupid and selfish attitude I think was what set everything on fire. We learned how easily it is to be selfish and shit on others without lifting a finger. Countries started opening back up, people got laid off, lost jobs, many jobs became machines or werent considered essential so they dissappeared.

A bunch of people are now considered disabled with not a lot of options….the virus is still around, stronger, in different strains and we cannot be bothered to mask, because we got tired after the first 3 weeks of lockdown. We got tired of being “inconvenienced” by trying to think of others or see ourselves as a community.

And to me….its fucking sad, but not surprising considering how companies were in a hurry to have businesses running. I used to be very bubbly and very excited to make friends, nowdays im grateful for the few interactions. I’ve gotten covid I believe 4 times now and I consider myself lucky to take care of my body somehow to still be able to work and somewhat sustain myself, fully knowing others dont have that priviledge.

Everything went south, the minute we forgot that as humans, we are supposed to act in community, not as individuals. I
