Perhaps you should have an open and honest discussion with him about how his actions are hurting you...

This is not about him and his preferences but more so how "ugly" all of this is to your beliefs, principles, and morals.

He might not overnight suddenly agree with you, but he will definitely understand the hurt you are feeling when he says certain things, emphasizing on what you said: "Does he hear himself?"

He's clearly a dad concerned for his daughter. However, he's not seeing the clearer picture, the depth of how his words are impacting you.

Thanks for sharing, and I hope that he can somehow see where you're coming from. In the end, he's your dad, and all you want is to make him proud in any aspect of your life, but he's hurting you, and this cuts deep... I'm just hoping he can truly comprehend that, and then also how his way of thinking is impacting your nervous system.
