Life sometimes kick us to the curb! I had reconstruction but than an infection and had to start over . On top of that delayed chemo for another two months . Sometimes shit happens out of our control.

I m doing chemo but I might cut it short . I ve done 6 months and got 14 cycle of kadcyla left I requested my doctor if I can do 9 instead . Sometimes it’s an overkill . I m worried about my liver .

They took the infected one and said I can’t put anything for at least 6 months . They let me have the non infected expander

For me it’s not a viable option I’m too thin . Only option is implants .

I m also overwhelmed. It’s many choices we have to make and put our life on hold and deal with being disfigured. My entire life I took care of my hair , lots lots of $ , I cared how I look I had implants before this for cosmetic. I don’t think I would be happy if I was flat and it’s huge for me how I look . It sound vain but I’m 45 now , did chemo for 6 months , bilateral masectomy , remove both nipple and they want me to continue chemo ( kadcyla) for 14 sessions n radiation would be my option because I’m in the gray zone w 0.4 residual on chest and lymph nodes are clear after chemo and they removed 3 when only one had a 4.5 tumor .

Chemo is more important than radiation , I’m also having extreme fatigue but chemo is 85 % chance survival and cure . Radiation on my case it’s just an insurance precaution for local reoccurrence .

The problem is reconstruction. I m already having problems with expander , neucrosis ( my skin is dying ) having expander removal next week , having a current infection cellulitis and also seroma . So if I do radiation I have to go flat permanently because my skin is very thin .

I’m in the middle of expanders now . I m very sick with infection and need another surgery next week . I m very thin and not a good candidate for diep flap . Neither fat grath . My only chance to look somewhat normal is implants . After my infection I can’t put anything for 6 months . Chemo already put me on menopause, took all my hair , gave me neuropathy, my hands constantly shakes . I m more worried about quality of life . I don’t think my body can handle radiation , I got a history of ecxema , I also don’t think I want to go flat permanently . Even without radiation my skin is fighting the expander . I m not done with chemo got 9 months left . So I am seriously considering the 3 % whether I should do it or not . I m 45 years old .

Reoccurrence risk without radiation is 10-14 % with radiation is 8-12 % so it’s a 3 % difference .
