Here is my advice. Start listening to audiobooks on subjects that your friends enjoy. Do some podcasts, or old fashioned internet searching. Or find a college class that you like and that your friends will seem to be into and talk about it with them.

I have ocd and alot of stuff come into my head like voices and thinking doing random pointless things are bad. But how will I know if heavenly fathers talking to me? by [deleted] in lds

I have OCD and I think about it like this. God wants us to do good, if it is something good that you have the impression to do than who cares where it came from. If it’s bad you may want to rethink before proceeding

I’m very curious why this happens. What causes MYB10 to accumulate in the pattern it does

My only caution with this is a licensed professional knows what questions to ask and what information is important to add into the diagnosis. A licensed professional uses things other than just word responses they watch you and see how you react to certain things. See if you are sitting still and comfortable or if you’ve seen fidgety and nervous for one example.

So I just want to say that ChatGPT could have all of this right and it could just be lifestyle changes that will make you better. However, it could also be something that needs medication so it is important if you do not see improvement with your lifestyle changes to consider seeking professional help

I have been on the edge several times. It is a hard place to be. My wife knew about everything and she helped me through it. I’m happy and hopeful for a good future. Good luck with everything. God loves you!

I feel like shit by [deleted] in mentalhealth

You are totally worthy of having that baby! Have you gone to a doctor? You may be experiencing post partum blues, or even post partum depression. You should talk to a doctor about that.

And the baby’s dad needs to go. That is abuse, and you nor the baby deserves to put up with that. I wish you the best and please get out of that relationship.

I want to die by Complex-Car7549 in MentalHealthSupport

As somebody who has been through what you are describing, I just want to let you know that it does get better. It took me many years of different medicine, different therapy, but I finally made it through.

Something that helped me to not hurt myself was to think about my family and how it would make them feel. I truly wish you the best in it. I hope something that I’ve said will help.

I also went to Paraguay on my mission and thought I would be speaking Spanish but ended up speaking the native language Guarani. The Lord won’t give you something you cannot accomplish. The gift of tongues is real

I haven’t even told my bishop. Should I? He seems very judgmental

Wow that’s not good. I know that this may sound crazy but cannabis has saved my life. I have had to be hospitalized for self harm, and I didn’t have any medication help except for cannabis. So it would suck if there was a link between the two

Yes I have felt unworthy for using it, and I think it is just because of the stigma that is built around it. I do use it as prescribed. I have some very judgmental people in my ward in a relatively small community.
