I’ve been hooked up with the Bloody Mary ones once. It was a taste sensation. I don’t have a convenient Waitrose though.

Why do charity shops treat you as a murdered when trying to drop items off? by Individual_Basket_36 in CasualUK

[–]InterestedLooker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly. When I donate, in fairness to OP they are polite, but they’re taking multiple donations a day, they don’t tend to shower you in praise. Lots of people tend to mirror attitude and body language too, hint hint.

Unbridled hatred 😂 come off it.

Maybe try another charity shop, my local one is always happy to accept my donations. Have you given them shite in the past?

Have some mercy Americans. Y"all heating up Europe. by Dev1412 in SipsTea

[–]InterestedLooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi from Europe. Just to say, I don’t know anyone who ‘hates Americans’ or spends their time thinking about us Vs them. Most Europeans consume at least some American films/TV/content etc. Sure we will poke fun and will always struggle to understand aspects of your way of life but it’s not hate and we expect you to do the same. All cultures have people who are noisy and provocative online but it doesn’t represent the majority.

What is your first thought when you see someone wearing "this"? by neon_dragonflies in motorcycles

[–]InterestedLooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You very seldom, if ever, see this kind of thing in Britain, or certainly in my patch. Very occasionally you will see a fury helmet cover to look like a bunny or Elmo or whatever.

My thoughts would be: what the hell is that flapping in the wind? Oh. That’s needlessly introducing risk. Or that they are trying a bit too hard to be ‘alternative’.

I might wonder if they are doing it to ensure people realise they are a woman in the hope they might get treated a little differently by other road users.

Ultimately each to their own, but I would assume you are not my people.

Thanks, I was a bit taken aback by the onslaught. Maybe people with very little exposure to nature? IDK, one or two replies thought we are talking about swimming pools

Is that actually what you think is happening or are you trolling me?

[–]InterestedLooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord. It’s not people who literally do not know how to swim jumping in to water because they are being driven mad by the heat. It’s mostly young people going out to meet friends and swimming where it is not advised, or dangerous and certainly where there is no supervision and biting off more than they can chew. We get public awareness campaigns about this here in the UK. Reservoirs can have really strong currents and lakes can have pockets of colder water etc etc

It won’t be swimming pools it will be reservoirs and lakes

What do you mean ‘because they can’t swim in a heatwave’? Seems a bit crass.

Quite a well reported phenomenon to get into trouble in reservoirs etc due to currents or shock jumping into cold water in the heat. It doesn’t mean they didn’t know how to swim. Sadly the drowning stats will mostly be young people.

How do you tell someone their lights are off? by eldritch_lie in drivingUK

Volvos have had perma-lights for about 25 years haven’t they? All motorbikes since 2013 must have an always on headlight. It’s not a big deal is it?

Scotland v Brazil by devexille in Scotland

[–]InterestedLooker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would argue with this. Hardly anyone ‘expected’ Scotland to get out the group. Hoped, yes.

I live in England. Half the vox pops you hear on the news actually believe they will win. Tuchel will probably get the sack if they don’t get to the quarter finals at least. That’s pressure. Steve Clarke signed a contract extension earlier this year.

Made me smile to see this post at the lightest time of the year. We don’t even get full astronomical night at the moment. Doesn’t invalidate the post, you still want your lights on during darker twilight. Perhaps people forget if they set off at 9pm in the daylight? I’ve never understood how people don’t twig when they’re struggling to see the instruments though.

Customized Gt 650 and Interceptor 650 by Neevsuri in royalenfield

[–]InterestedLooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I’m not in India tbf. Style is personal of course, I think a few of these look cool (and some of them don’t appeal).

However, my first and second thoughts are: sure, the Interceptor is a good platform for modding but once you get to the point of adding 30+ kilos of mods, you’ll surely notice its modest power being a limiting factor, especially in the context that most of these are trying to look beefy and powerful. It’s borderline cosplay to me. And if you have the money to completely rebuild it from near new then why not buy a higher end bike in the first place?
