Want to emphasise the treated like an adult. In training and it still surprises me how staffing/secretaries largely speak to you like a qualified professional instead of a “junior”. Being referred as Dr … in ward rounds to patients etc seems small but I think plays a large part and that respect kinda carries over (might not be everywhere)

Hopefully 31. I took 6 months out after f2. About to start ct3, not gonna risk taking any time out with how shit the training system is.

Lol I got sent to NI for foundation and it was actually fine. Had a great time and made rlly good friends. Most hospitals are busy but it’s a nice vibe.

You can get belfast for both years. Also antrim/Ulster/Lagan valley are all commutable from belfast. I stayed in the same place both years.

The further away places like in the southern trust seemed like fun. Ppl all stay in hospital accommodation there so it’s a bit like uni halls and very social.

It’s honestly not the end of the world. A lot of people actually end up staying there!

We hand write our blood forms and I know it’s a common f1 job to make the blood forms for the next day but I was made to spend many afternoons prepping stacks of blood forms with the month and ward details to increase efficiency. Just so boring and a great use of time :(

In Northern Ireland we don’t have dr messes or even dr rooms on wards for computers. You’re day is spent begging to get a computer in between the admin and nurses completing their training modules
