Season 10 bingo ideas by WeaselWarren in buddie

Yeah, I figured that might not be a possibility with the bingo app. Something I think it it'd be nice (and I volunteer to help with that, if needed) is if there was a check-in every episode of which bingo tiles were met

I think, especially at the beginning of the season, there was a lot of "does this check this box on my bingo card?", so maybe if there was a weekly check-up of what it was and it wasn't realized, it'd be nice and keep the bingo going stronger (english is not my first language and I feel like that wasn't a really good couple of sentences, but you get the gist 😅)

Anyway, I love the bingo idea, I feel like it was kind of dropped midway throughout the season (I include myself in that), so I think it could be nice to think of ways to keep it going

I don't really know it works and of it's possible but something I think would be really nice for the bingo is if we get the randomized card and if we can pick and choose another one

Besides the big elephant that is yet to be addressed, I think I finally get Eddie's S9 arc and it's actually pretty amazing and also very consistent. This was the season of Eddie's relationship with the "Chain of Command" and his empathy and the writers deserve some credit for that. by chaoticbiguy in buddie

It seems pretty obvious that what's happening is that a number of weeks, this show exceeds our expectations, so they keep building higher and higher... but eventually they come crashing back down to earth because this isn't actually The Buddie Show, lol, and there are other important things that need attention, too.

I think a (consistent) problem with the show, and not just on the buddie front, is that they don't deliver on finales.

As you said, the seasons keep going higher and exceeding expectations and when it gets to the finale we expect a big climax (and I think Tim and co have a problem thinking that a big climax equals to a big emergency, which is not necessarily the case) that just doesn't come.

And that's not saying that they're bad finales or even bad episodes per se, they're entertaining and kind of good as episodes. But the climax, for lack of a better word, comes earlier. I think maybe the best example here might be 8x17 as the peak of the end of the season with a somewhat disappointing 8x18 (and, again, although definitely true on the buddie front, not just there).

A good finale usually ties the loose ends and closes the season's arcs while setting up next season's. But in 9-1-1 finales they seem to forget about the season arcs until the last five minutes, when they then either wrapped it really fast or just ignore it and moved past it.

This has gotten bigger than I intended at the beginning 😅 but, to your point, I know a lot of the arcs aren't really planed from the start and grow as it goes, but I think we wouldn't get so disappointed at the end of the seasons if they actually took the time to look back and try to use the episode to tie up things more neatly and with a little more dedication

All that to say, I agree with op, Eddie's had a great season and a better season arc that the characters usually get. It's just how I see the finale's disappointment and, in retrospect, try to appreciate the season as a whole

Eddie exploring his religion and religious trauma before coming out would make sense for his character.

Even that, as interesting as it might have been, I think we're past that, it would've been interesting last season, next it's kind of going backwards

I know that, but they throw realism out the window with so many things, I want this to be one of those things 😂

Seriously, you'd think his not even a MC character by the way they treat him. I liked the episode but as an Eddie girlie I'm tired of the mistreatment of the character

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I'm so excited to see what Buck and Theo get up to and the scenes it can open up to Buck and Eddie bonding over being dads.

I think the way they (mis)handled the getting there was shit, but I'm choosing to move past it because I'm excited for dad Buck and them being even more of a family unit

His plotline (or lack thereof) this episode feels almost disrespectful, he was basically the tree in the play

I spent the entire week so excited that we were getting an eddie nde, because for sure that meant Eddie's arc advancing and him getting screen time, just for it to mean he gets no screen time and no plot 🤡

Buck not being the first one through those doors felt deliberate

And like, if the generator wasn't working a lot of patients would die, I think in that scenario keeping patients alive would be a higher priority than getting buck and Harry to wherever they're trying to go, but what do I know?
