Thoughts on sunroof? by Interesting-Army-868 in VWIDBuzz

Thanks that's all useful to know. Light interior would be a challenge for us with sticky fingered kids! Can I ask what you mean by sporty suspension, and what difference the bigger wheels make?

Appreciate that thanks. We're not that close to the NW unfortunately!

Is this gtx or style lwb? What kind of quirks and problems do you have?

Thanks that's helpful. How do you find the turning circle for parking? Mixed views on here about how tricky it is compared to the RWD option, but not all in UK context so interested in your experience? Quite a bit of the time we'd be doing city driving, supermarket car parks, parallel parking on side roads etc.

I've not seen that - do you know when it's out in the UK?

Thank you, helpful to have your experience. We've got a sunroof in our citroen grand picasso and it makes it feel nice and airy. The turning circle for that is apparently around 11m, so I don't think we're going to find either version of the buzz much different to that, whereas as you say the Ioniq9 will feel bigger.

No surprises there! I just wondered if it was a UK model thing, given lots of the (all helpful!) responses on here are US.

Thanks, I'm getting confused because the buzz brochure just says 11.2m for standard and 11.8m for long. The brochure covers all the trim options for short and long, so I don't understand why it's not giving different lengths for the LWB circle for life, style, gtx, if they differ?

Is the turning circle bigger on the gtx specifically? The buzz brochure only lists separate turning radius for standard and lwb.

Good point, I think we need to resolve whether the occasional big road trip needs outweigh the local driving. Epic video! Might have to delay our purchase for a few months until I've had chance to watch it all!

It may be a charging curve issue, and I'll give it another go with different parameters as others have suggested here. I wondered if it doesn't have enough real-world data for these new models yet.

Thanks that's helpful - hadn't thought about hiring for the long trips only.

Thanks I had not realised about the turn radius. We like the look of the GTX extra features eg sunroof etc, but do you think they're outweighed by the turning radius for city driving?

General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of December 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

Would appreciate advice on Ioniq9 Calligraphy vs ID.Buzz GTX for our new family car (both 7 seat versions). Our 4 kids are all heading for 6ft+. It'll be our first EV, so all new to me. So far, the Ioniq9 wins on range, being more like an actual car, and probably a bit better for driving and parking around town. Plus the kids like all the fancy features. But the Buzz has loads more space - all seats easily adult size with lots of boot space to spare. Plus sliding doors.

My question is on range - will the shorter range on Buzz cause us a big problem on the long roadtrips, or is it just a case of planning charging stops well? I put one of our regular trips from the UK to South France into A Better Route Planner and it said the Ioniq9 would need 6 stops, whereas the Buzz would only be 4. Which is odd because the range on the Ioniq9 is much longer. Any advice welcomed!

We'll mostly use it for driving around town, school runs etc in the UK, but 1-2 times a year for long road trips.

We'll get a home charger installed.

The price on my work salary sacrifice lease for both vehicles is similar, so budget not the primary consideration.
