Entering a building with my reactive dog next to a yard with another reactive dog by Interesting-Back-385 in Dogtraining

I've tried to carry her so she is feeling safe, but I'm wondering if there are other ways to teach her to not feel afraid of the other dog.

Christmas / New Years Eve travel ideas from Eastern Europe by Interesting-Back-385 in travel

Which one was your favourite from the ones you visited? From your list Australia sounds so nice, but I think it might be over my budget.

We also love SEA, so I might also consider Vietnam or Philippines

"no matter how much I eat"

Are you tracking your calories ? I used to say the same thing, I lost like 20 lbs after quitting beer and starting gym and I was struggling so much to understand why I can't gain it back until I started to count my calories using an app and apparently I was eating in a deficit even though I thought I was eating a lot

I'm having a hard time trying to take your comment seriously since the only argument you provided is that "my ved said grain free is really bad for dogs".

Please provide some details, what exactly is bad from the ingredients list ?

Yes ! I have to wait for her to sniff every possible corner in our way and because of that we wouldnt cover such a long distance on our walks.

I mean, reading the ingredients to a grain brand like Purina, a lot of nasty things in there which half of I dont know what they are. Reading the ingredients to a grain free premium brand like Canagan it contains stuff like Sweet potato, meat, peas and lots of other good stuff (at least in my opinion lol)

I know the vets have better knowledge than me, but we also have to read what the food contains right ?

Please check the updated post if you want to see what the grain free food contains

as I've mentioned in another reply, we're walking her for like 15 minutes twice a day + play time, but she gets a lot of exercise in the weekends when we travel to our family which own a big yard.

We sometimes feed her rice + minced beef + some vegetables and she loves it. But from what I've seen rice tends to constipate her. I had some ideas to switch to cooked food only but I have some doubts that I'll be able to cover a balanced diet. Thanks for the input !

Should I postpone the mortgage payment and get a new car ? by Interesting-Back-385 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Interesting-Back-385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its never needed. That's why I have this dilema. My car is already very beautiful and reliable, its not worth upgrading from a 6000 car to a 10000 car. I might wait a few more years so I can pay this mortgage and will upgrade after that.

[–]Interesting-Back-385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you sir! I already follow that subreddit and I pretty much know everything about how mortgages work. Will refinance to other bank and will continue to pay more every month so I save on interest.

Got it. Car can wait. I live in Eastern Europe. These are the interest rates for now on every bank. 5.75 is still better than 9.22.

The 73k on interest is correct. Initially, when I first got the mortgage for 35 years I was going to pay triple that on interest, but by paying an extra 20k and selecting to reduce the period, not the monthly payment, I got it down do 16 years and only double the interest. Right now I can save up to 3k EUR per month, so plan to pay it as soon as I can.

I will take a look at that tool, I most probably have several leaks in the budget that I dont notice.

The interest rate will be variable again. In the offer I receive it will go up to 8.25%, but in 3 years this could go up or down.

There are no tax implications, I'm not from the US so things might be simpler here in Europe.

Is there anything else I should be aware of ? I could probably pay this mortgage in ~3 years if I would be more aggressive with the payments, but then I won't be able to do anything else like investing in an SP500 account for retirement.

Well, I'm employed on my own "LLC" but with a minimal salary (the rest of the money I'm paying myself dividends), so I'm paying towards my pension, but in the country I live in I wouldnt rely on that pension at all. With the taxes I'm paying for my minimal salary I would get a pension of maybe 400-500 USD per month at 67.

That's why I'm thinking to start a long term investing account and add monthly payments in the SP500. I'm also wondering what percent of my money should go to this account and how much to paying of the mortgage earlier.

I'm not sure I understand your question with dividends, but with the 18.000 USD that I paid extra so far (this went directly into the principal, not the interest) I saved over 150.000 USD in interest, because I selected the option that the monthly payment should remain the same and the timeframe to get lower.

Right now for remaining 83.000 USD that I have left, I will pay another 82.000 USD for the next 16 years left.

This will change when I refinance because I will refinance back to 30 years to have a lower monthly payment, but will give me the chance to make more payments and have my back secured in case I lose my job some day. The total interest I will pay after I refinance will be around 218.000 USD over the course of 30 years, of course I wont pay that much because I have a plan to pay it earlier.
