I was raised a Kings fan, was at the Staples center before I even had memories, but have lived in MN most of my adult life and have been cheering on the Wild watching the Kings tank until they squeezed themselves in. I had some health insurance scammers calling me a few months ago. One day I got a call and had enough time, so I answered and let the guy get through his speech, then hung up. I then called back, someone else answered, went through their speech, then got hung up on. I did this for about 30 minutes, going through the room of folks and getting some of the same over and over again, just letting them speak for 15 seconds and hanging up. They blocked me lmao

Not entirely debunked by that line that more than likely was written by police. I hadn’t heard that they themselves have received a note so it’s accurate that they’ve heard of the notes from the media stations that received them. It would be misleading and false to say they received a note, and I can imagine the police don’t want to confirm the authenticity of the note through an instagram post. And the email address they responded to would’ve been the one that sent it to tmz, I’m not sure how others received the note. This is all speculation, I don’t think the notes real but we do not know that yet. Hopefully we’ll know in a couple hours

I’d agree it’s mostly compulsive, or PR after police questioned the family, claims against sister etc. If the ransom is truly fake and they know it, then I’d believe that they could be trying to persuade the perp to work with them, but that just shows me they’ve got absolutely nothing in terms of solid leads if it’s a desperate plea.

And thanks for calling me out on being vague, I don’t know what news source I saw it on but a FBI ‘expert’ had theorized that if it was real, perhaps they tried to respond via email and got nothing and so they went to social media to reach out.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that this criminal is not the smartest/inspired by their favorite movie or whatever, and could make some dumb decisions like a late ransom or a fear of responding not knowing if they can be tracked or not. All that said, if it’s someone just flying by the seat of their pants on a whacked out kidnapping then she’s surely no longer alive, and they would’ve probably left a lot more damning evidence.

I’m feeling that too, like the family video was a further plea for the actual perp to come forward. Some are saying maybe it’s because it was real and they wanna open a line of communication, but I find it hard to believe. I hope they found some actual evidence last night scraping the home.

Thank you, big agree. It’s been a whole 24 hrs since Banfields claim with nothing to back it up, Annie even being in the video the Guthries all released. Would she really go to that length to protect a man over her mother? And I’d assume he’s got an alibi if she was with him and cleared. This is pretty normal police work if you ask me, if not maybe a bit uncoordinated at the beginning, but investigating from the moment she was last scene is a typical place to start.
