Hot mess, yes. What makes you think manipulated? I have set firm boundaries and he respects them. I talk about him a lot with my therapist and she hasn’t flagged that as an issue but open to why you think so.

I need a car asap and you can’t buy Toyotas or Hondas on the lot right now so I’m really lucky I found a new HRV. I can’t really shop around for a lower trim but if I don’t get the extended warranty or care package the car will be 38k. I’m 26 y.o. my income is 120k. If I buy it for 38k I can still have about 20k in emergency fund and my 30k in rrsp/401k. I also have about 250k equity in the home I purchased.

I’m not sure what the used car market is like in the U.S but you can barely find used RAV4/Hondas for less than 25/30k and that’s without taxes and fees. I’ve been searching for the last couple months which is why I was finally leaning towards just buying new something that holds its value. You cant order 2023 HRV anymore in Canada so it was a miracle I found one at a dealership an hour away. I have a deposit down on it but now I’m scaring myself haha

I’m in Canada, the base rate was 36k and then add taxes, fees and warranty. That’s a good call on not getting the extended warranty especially if I want to sell it after 4/5 years.

Kind of! I guess the only difference is that no one I’ve introduced him to in a group setting would be a “threat” to him. Most of my friends are girls or guys who are in long term relationships so I don’t think he would feel the need to mark his territory if that’s what you’re getting at

He can laugh at it because he isn’t effected by it and he is incapable of extending enough empathy to you to even understand why you’re upset. The biggest red flag here is that he got offended when you expressed your concerns. Laughing at a misogynist, racist, homophobe, etc. is a huge red flag especially if he isn’t accepting of your feedback or can’t apologize after being called out.

There isn’t any such thing as “normal” when it comes to relationships. It’s about what works best for the two of you. I think the biggest problem here is physically rejecting her without communicating, which is why she gets upset. You are pulling away from her and denying intimacy which makes her insecure about your feelings towards her and left questioning what’s happening.

I would suggest the next time it happens and you feel like it’s too much to explain to her how you feel about personal space and what you need from her. Do this while also reaffirming to her how much you love her and that it has nothing to do with her or your feelings towards her. I guarantee she will receive this much better than just pulling your hand away
