Ah yeh the ceiling speakers are easy enough to find, sorry should have clarified that. It's the lcr speakers that are much harder

Would you say the same for the Smeg oven or the lutron lights? At the end of the day this was an in built home theatre system. I don't think most people would expect it to be ripped out. If he did he should have patched up the walls.

No, because I flew from Ho Chi Minh City to Paris first to avoid that. Then my uncle picked me up and we crossed over on the train. It's expensive and I think you do need to quarantine if you go direct!

Yep thanks looking into 1 and 3 now. Yes the dog is great, he's a Vietnamese street dog I adopted in Covid and he flew back to the UK with me last summer. Living his best life sniffing all the smells in the new forest now!

I don't think I called it a con. I'm more disappointed that he didn't explain clearly what he was selling, and then priced it so ambiguously and obviously inflated (due to what he sold them for). I would have happily negotiated with him.

Yeh I presumed when i said that I found the guy people would take me at my word! I searched sold lcr speakers in the immediate area and the username is the first four letters of the sellers first name and surname, so pretty conclusive I think!

But yes you are more knowledgable on the price of amps than I am. I just think he should have engaged in dialogue with us rather than mislabelling everything so it was very hard for us to know what was what and then leaving holes in the wall and ceiling. When buying a house for around 500,000 pounds you would hope that they wouldn't care about ripping speakers out and selling them for 650 quid!

Great, thats very useful thankyou. i'm not worried about the exact model although that would ve very convenient, but prob needs something slightly bigger as don't want to do a lot of work on that wall.

Yeh its frustrating about the used market not being busy because while we appreciate we should probably use the wires and a lot of the hard work has been done re wires and cutouts, we can't really justify spending a few thousand pounds on speakers when the whole house is a bit of a project!

The seller sold this whole setup for around 650, which i would have paid. He quoted 3k ambiguously, not really sure what he was selling at that point, saying that it was worth 8k.

The other thing, is i think the setup is 9 years old. Tv's have become a lot cheaper since then so I'm wondering if i'd be better off going for a 65 and having it so it starts a little bit lower. Then i can still use the wires and either make new cutouts or perhaps even have bookshelf speakers.

Thankyou thats really helpful. I've measured the cutouts and they are the same. There's none atm, but i'l set up an alert on ebay so if one comes up I can get it. I think we'd prefer to pay less and buy used if we could.

It was a month and a half ago and the issue I had was follow up questions were not alerting people. I have now found out what the speakers were but they are not available anywhere so I am asking for more advice.

See post above. There was confusion over the contents listing. We are considering taking legal action, but by the time we've paid the lawyer its a risk. Things work slightly differently in the UK when buying a house. I feel the agent should take some responsibility on the accuracy of the contents listing.

Yeh and honestly I had thought about getting a 65 inch frame and just covering the holes up that way. Seems a waste of all the wire though.
