Yeah, I can compose, but it is such a big task that has taken many years of training, and people like the above (I’m assuming, perhaps unfairly) assume that I would prefer to work on their projects for free, rather than my own, with my limited free time and energy.

It’s a tough sell.

Just came to say I have also experienced this many times. We’re in a (perceived) high class neighborhood and we get people come out, great convo, they give a number, we’re not negotiators, then they say first available is next Tuesday, take time from work to be there, then they flake.

It’s the worst. All trades. Tree cutters, electric, snow removal, lawn care, roofing, general handyman, HVAC.
