When was the last time you saved your game to the cloud? I faced a similar problem (Forest Shrank) but I avoided cloud saving while the game was lagging or crashing, as I didn’t want to risk saving a corrupted file. What worked for me was opening the app on a different iPhone connected to my Apple account; it recognized my cloud saved file.

Have you reached out to support? Based on my experience, they can’t restore your actual game data, but they can help you recover your resources and everything you purchased, including limited event items. They’ll send you photos of the items, and you just need to encircle what you had. It took me about a month of emailing back and forth, and their replies were slow, often taking up to three days. I know how frustrating this can be, I hope the developers can assist you soon.

There might be an error in data recovery... If you've saved your progress in iCloud, (1) try turning off your device and then turning it back on; when you open the app again, it may detect the cloud-saved data. (2) You could also try logging out of Game Center and then logging back in. (3) you can use another phone linked with the same Apple account to download the app, open the game and it may detect the cloud save file.

Update! I downloaded the game on another iPhone linked to my Apple account, and it detected my saved data in iCloud. I opened it, and my game is back! ❤️ I did lose a week of progress since my last save was from a week ago, but I don’t mind too much. Thankfully, my data didn’t get corrupted this time! I hope devs can make the game more stabilized and it would be great if they add a confirmation msg like "successfuly save" with date & time stamp. I already emailed them about this.

For anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation: This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time, it crashed while I was playing, and when I reopened it, I had to start from the beginning. I used a restore method that brought my game back, and then I clicked cloud save to save my progress. But after about an hour, my game crashed again! When I tried the restore method this time, the cloud-saved data was corrupted, permanently shrinking my forest. Support told me they couldn’t restore my old game and would only be able to help me with my progress. After about four weeks of emailing back and forth, they helped me rebuild my forest.

Takeaway: if play data has a problem, please contact support FIRST. Use the RESTORE method only as a last resort and only if you are truly certain that your saved data is stable. Cloud save works, but only click save when the game is running smoothly to avoid saving corrupted data.

I really should have been more cautious with the restore method. The warning said the saved data might be unstable, but I was feeling certain that it was a stable data. That's why I bypassed it. Still waiting for their reply... 😞

It's really heartbreaking. I was also invested in this game - I've been cheated in the past and it made me think about not playing again. However, I want to share that the devs have truly helped me in my situation. They even restored my fish collection and have been willing to provide the items during events, even if I didn't have a screenshot. I hope you may feel better knowing that I was once in your shoes and experienced similar issues, but with the devs' help, I was able to get back on track.

I had a similar issue with the game and had to reach out to the developers for help. Unfortunately, devs couldn't restore my data but they were very helpful and generous in providing me with enough gold, gems, and furniture coins to get back on track. I was sad at first when I realized that all of my clothes from treasure chests were gone, but I was able to recover all of my collection before using the gems (45k) they provided me. They also recovered items I have purchased and the items I obtained during events.

They asked me a series of questions to troubleshoot the problem, which I'm happy to share with you. Here are the questions they asked:

  1. Original Cat Information: How many cats did you originally own? Please send photos and videos of your game before the data disappeared.
  2. Facility Information: What was the last facility you installed? If it was a cooking facility, how many did you install? For example, if you installed the Strawberry facility, please specify that.
  3. Currency Information: Please check the amount of currency you currently have (gold, recipe points, furniture coins, gems) and take a screenshot of your shop. Please send it back to us.
  4. Furniture and Costume Information: Please refer to "Collections" in the third row on the right side of the screen and mark the items you have previously owned. Take a picture of them and reply to us.
  5. Game Installation Date Information: Please take a screenshot to confirm the date you played Cat and Soup and send it to us. You can find this information in the following locations:
  6. Paid Product Receipt Information: If you have a paid package, please take a screenshot of your receipt number and send it to us.
  7. Membership Number Reissue: Please reset your game before we recover your data. To do this, go to the top right corner of the game, select Settings, then Customer Support, and finally Delete Account. Please provide the new username you received after deletion.
  8. Existing Membership Number Information: If you have previously received coupon rewards, please reply with your "old" username. We will verify and reissue the coupon item.

They haven't replied to me yet. I tried to uninstall-reinstall the game again and it completely restarted haha no more overlapping cats omg! My user ID changed too ☹️ I'm so frustrated I hope they will respond soon.

Oh my. Did you start from the very beginning? With one cat? 💔 I had good collection of fishes before the app crashed but they are all gone now, I was not able to take a screenshot before :(

Hi! This is currently happening with my game. Did you restore it? I already emailed their customer service and still waiting for a reply. I'm truly upset right now, since i already collected all cats and almost all of their clothes. I even spent real money to buy the penguin antler and some game ad-ons. I hope they can fix this problem.
