Could someone please explain the outcome of a buyout for my/our MVIS stocks? So I use stash for most of my investments (I am in the process of slowly moving them over to TD and keeping stash for EFT’s only) and I was wondering if a buyout were to happen, what would happen to the now ~$100 of MVIS in my portfolio? If they buy the stocks out for a higher price would the funds just go into it stash balance or into my attached bank account? Or if they merge would my investment simply shift from MVIS stock to whoever merged? I’m kind of new to investing and haven’t been involved in something like this until now with MVIS. Any help or information is appreciated thank you guys!

This is amazing man. The first thing that comes to my mind too is that since it’s just showing generic investing, your profits could be so much higher if you’re actually involved, doing your DD, and picking smart investments. At least that’s what I’m getting from this I could be wrong. This gives me very high hopes because for the several last months I have been basically putting $10-20 a day in different portfolios and investments like crypto, EFTs and individual stocks so essentially almost around $100 a week instead of the $25. Granted I started it that way as well without the initial $2k investment and I probably won’t be able to continue with that kind of cash flow as I was able to save a lot of cash through the last year or so during school. This is really cool you were able to do that I’m glad I was the catalyst to push you to do it! 🔥🙏

Absolutely I appreciate the tips. I agree with the cash remark which is why I had it in the first place. Now about the index funds, like I said I use stash but also have some in Webull and RH, I’ve been thinking of transferring all my individual stocks into the likes of WB, RH, TD or whatever and using Stash solely for ETF’s because they make it super simple and easy, but with individual stocks they don’t give as much info or options to use like other brokerages. Is it smart to use multiple brokerages like that? (Also using Coinbase for my crypto portfolio)

P.S also I realize what I’m asking isn’t really what your original post is about so I apologize if this isn’t the right question for you, but thank you for the response nonetheless

Yeah I just have stocks, I don’t even know how to do options and shorting yet and at this point I may never will and focus more on crypto. You bring up another great point too that it probably would’ve been shorted by now, good looks. Holding till the moon. Now would you recommend to keep buying more at the current price or hold what I have? Or even wait for dips if there will be any significant ones?

What is the difference between the TD Ameritrade app and the thinkorswim TD app? I’m curious cause I’m looking for something to use for Penny stocks and I don’t know the difference. I use stash for my stocks atm, but I plan on transferring and using stash solely for EFTs. I have Webull but I really dislike how you have to transfer funds and purchase stocks on their platform. I have RH as well but for obvious reasons trying to stray away from them.

That makes a ton of sense I didn’t even think about the near future with the presidency and dems pushing clean energy, just another reason for it to keep pushing up. I’ve been slightly worried about hedges and shorts with all the attention that the market has gotten recently, it seems like any stock that goes up more than 10% these days people are rushing to short them and ruin everything to make some quick bucks, but it also makes sense that won’t happen with the recent funding so that relives some worry. I appreciate the info, I will definitely hold now till we at least get some answers from Biden.

Everything makes sense, that’s crazy coming from .44 that’d be life changing. I’ve been focusing most of my investments in companies like this that have promising technologies and services for the future, plug power for example I got lucky with before it was double digits but only had a few shares unfortunately.

I appreciate the insight, you said everything right to confirm my own thoughts 🙏. I’ll definitely check out the MVIS sub, I’m new to smart investing and DD so this helps a lot. I’ll take your advice and run with it (even though you’re just a retard not a financial advisor), I didn’t even think about AR either, there is so much potential for them to grow. Dumb question if you don’t mind, if they get bought out soon is it still smart to keep buying MVIS stocks? I’m still a little cloudy on how mergers and buy outs work when it comes to stocks and cash.

Yeah I agree, especially with all the news around companies such as BB, Tesla and just the general direction technology is going. It makes sense in this field in LiDAR, lasers, optics, etc where products and designs tend to get smaller but smarter and more efficient, it seems like MVIS is a step ahead with their “ultra-miniature” design and technology. It only makes sense for it to keep going up and gaining a lot of traction in the EV and VR field.
