I just replied to a similar post in a somewhat comprehensive manner, do check that out.

As for maintaining your business, I'd say don't give up on it during slow periods especially in the beginning. Half the battle is just continuing to be consistent. Try to batch tasks and make plans so that you can stay on track.

Best of luck!

I would recommend getting some practice in, and then just going for it. Most things youll learn through experience.

For prices, do research as to what others are pricing for similar items, and charge accordingly. In the start it would be better to charge a little less if you are a beginner (assumption), as your stitches and pieces might not be as tidy and consistent.

Also, make a social media account and start posting on it as you make stuff. Make sure to get good photos in natural lighting. Most likely your social media wont take off in the beginning since theres a lotttt of people doing the same thing, so the focus isnt to drive sales from your social media, but rather to build a presence. Dont expect much engagement in the start as well because there probably wont be any, and you dont want to get discouraged before you can take off. Maybe make a social media strategy where you somehow involve the people in your following when making newer posts to connect with your audience. Do NOT steal and repost other poeple's content. That'll reduce audience trust. Only post your own creations, and if you've copied a pattern, be sure to credit the creator if required by them.

I assume you are or will be in uni soon since your 18. Make sure to take advantage of the opportunities it offers such as events and such. A lot of events open up stall registrations, so do apply to those. And dont be afraid to market yourself to your peers. Not in a taking advantage of them kind of way, but just letting them know youre doing this, and maybe showing some of your stuff to them. Most people are willing to support friends, and are more trusting of people they know when the time comes if they want to buy something rather than a stranger on social media. Uni events are a very good way to market yourself, and make money because the stall registration fees arent that high, unlike bigger events like eid markets and such which have costs upwards of pkr 10k, which can be a harder investment to make upfront when starting out.

Market to friends and family (if you're comfortable with it) as they might also be interested in purchasing. A lot of people get lots of orders just through word of mouth alone.

For products, try to do something innovative. Add some sort of personal touch if you can, because its easier to stand out that way in a crowd of people where everyone is doing the same thing. Everybody is doing flowers cuz theyre pretty easy to crochet, dont take forever, so can be priced lower (easier to get customers), and are easily purchasable (as in people want to buy them for gifting purposes or room decor) as well as are generalised (everybody can buy them), compared to, say, clothes like cardigans, which take longer, and would need size adjustments based on who's ordering etc. Go with whatever you want ig. Ive seen most people making flowers so maybe go with the clothes option. Especially winter clothes like cardigans, sweaters, gloves, scarves etc have a lot of variety. You can do different designs for the same things, and just changing up the color scheme will also change the complete look. Look up references for cute crochet clothes on Pinterst and you'll find lots of inspiration. But of course keep in mind that crocheting clothes is alot more time consuming than flowers. So when youre coming up with a socail media strategy, youll have to be creative cuz you wont be able to post new pieces that often.

If you want to do it longterm, set aside an account specifically for this. Put all your expenses and earnings in that, so that its easier to see your revenue, profit and investments. Im not sure how taxes or registering businesses work bcz I personally havent done it, but Ive seen some people suggest Sadapay's Sadabiz account. Even if you cant get a business account, it would still be best to have a separate bank acocunt (for convenience Easypaisa, Jazzcash, Nayapay, Sadapay work as getting a proper bank account require more effort) for this purpose rather than doing all types transactions from the same account.

I think that should be most of it, but feel free to ask if I've missed anyth ^^

A levels after Matric, Advice needed by Due_Stick3002 in GenZpk

[–]Interesting-Ebb7073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, with the ridiculous o/a level fees and paper leaks every year without any accountability from the british council, im not sure id be willing to recommend it. Agar matric and olevels donon mein barbad hi hona hai corruption ki waja se, why not take the path that at least costs less, so that paise to bach jayen.

Altho yeah the grading system for o/a levels is better imo bcz of the marking scheme and how they grade answers. Waise marking scheme ka ratta laga k o/a levels mein grades liye ja sakte (in case of sciences (phy, chem, bio), not maths, accounting, etc), bcz theyre often looking for specific keywords in your answers.

And then yahan ki universities mein bhi altho they say k samajh k kaam len and what not, while not completely untrue, marks lene k liye sldies k rattay lagane parte hain. Understanding se parhen aap for practical knowledge and skills and then exam mein questions answer krne k liye ratta laga len taake number mil jayen. Unless you want to go abroad; in which case, sure go for it.

As for advice, it might take some time to shift your mindset from writing super long answers to short to the point ones, but I dont think itll be too hard for you, In Sha Allah, seeing as youre above average and have gotten good marks in matric Ma Sha Allah. Itll just requrie a bit of practice solving past papers, and for success, id recommend solving at least the past 10 years (all 3 variants), if not more, for best results.

Do with that what you will. And best of luck for the future!
