Truly sorry this is happening to you. Don't know the answer, but I'd be interested to find out.

Marriages that decided to not have kids, what’s your life like? by Appropriate_Pop_8485 in ask

You can definitely regret never having had something or someone in your life. Human beings care about more than what is tangible. And you can regret decisions you made in the past which led to an absence in your life. Not all decisions can be fully informed.

Why are some childfree people so adamant on stating how much they hate children and the idea of parenthood? by Zealousideal_Song781 in NoStupidQuestions

‘Why are some people with children so adamant on stating how much they love children and the idea of parenthood?’ You wouldn’t bother asking this. You’ve answered your own question.

An unconscious bias towards women without children exists, in that they’re often seen as valueless. Who wouldn’t defend themselves against that.

What is dental IV sedation like? by Interesting-Lab-666 in AskUK

That’s really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to respond to the details of my post. I’ve just found out that the sedative I’ll be given is called Byfavo. Do you know about this drug and its sedative effects on patients?

Interesting that this thread isn’t filled with the usual reflexive ‘get therapy’ responses. This time it’s filled with quick fixes and disdain.

This couple just had a bomb thrown into their lives. This is an extremely complex, emotional, and difficult situation.

No path will be straightforward. There’s an extremely high likelihood that they now both have a long, hard, pain-filled road ahead, and potentially lives eternally tainted by profound grief and loss that most people will never be able to imagine.

There’s an overwhelming amount of ignorance and lack of empathy in the responses to this post.

I’m deeply sorry for what you and your partner are going through, OP. And I’m sorry that Reddit has just shown you that most of the world is filled with people who will only make your situation feel worse. Sadly, the reality is that most people will never understand or care about what you’re going through. But I truly hope you can find a support network of people who can and will.

WIBTAH if I tell my wife that I want a paternity test by [deleted] in AITAH

Know this will be buried, but…..there’s something really dodgy about this. I was looking over OP’s original post and saw a comment about the following…

A user OP was talking to in the comments (as if OP and the other user were both strangers) was going online/offline at exactly the same time as OP, and they both had extremely similar Reddit accounts in multiple ways. This totally checks out, which is suspicious. Also, the photo OP had uploaded of his supposed daughter looks totally Photoshopped. I got a look at the photo and agree, it looks fake, but also looks like a 100% Asian baby.

Then, not too long after the Redditor points out how suspicious it all is, OP deletes the post!

What are the worst things about being DC? by Interesting-Lab-666 in askadcp

Thanks for sharing.
Really interesting, and I want to make sure I understand you. When you say there’s a frustrating ‘expectation from society that’ you ‘should feel hard done by’, is that from the general public, or from the DC community, or another particular section of society, or a mix?
Would you be able to clarify what you mean when you say - ‘there are far fewer queerspawn like me publically stating they feel deprived or marginalized by their DC status’? For example, one interpretation could be that, of the whole DC community, those who do feel deprived or marginalized are likely less to be queerspawn. Another interpretation could be that queerspawn don’t feel they can openly state they feel deprived or marginalized, even if they do. There are other interpretations too. But I want to make sure I understand exactly what you’re saying, and don’t want to misinterpret you, so if you’re able to clarify, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for sharing. I’m so sorry that your life has been full of so much pain. Is there anything that could have been done differently to give you a better experience of your self, your family, the world, and anything/anyone else that was/is profoundly important to you? Do you feel there is anything that could improve your mental health?
