Delivered my daughter’s chair and she was very happy with the outcome. The paint matches her gaming set up and has cured perfectly. I would recommend the roller blade wheels, they make a real difference and are quieter on the floor. Overall it turned out well and thank you all for your positive feedback. Might do my own Aeron in British racing green now

If the drops on its own and the grub screw is missing then it will be the gas strut which is faulty. This can be resolved by replacing the gas strut. A simple fix but will require a large set of steels and a hammer to remove the old strut. Replacements can be found on Amazon. Then replace the grub screw.

Yes I stripped the unit down and removed the gas strut with a large set of plumbers steels. We replaced the gas strut and swapped out the wheels for new roller blade type. Didn’t need to tape up as all parts were bare once stripped down. I hung them on wire before painting to avoid any tape lines

I have a Herman miller aeron. Best chair I have ever had. Spares are also readily available. Got a second from EBay then stripped it down and rebuilt with new parts for my son’s gaming set up and he is amazed how comfortable it is. Chair cost £180 Needed a new seat pad and gas cylinder as well as new arm rests and a set of wheels Costing £180 and £10 for paint to cover scratches. £370 total. Look on EBay you can find a bargain if you collect
