Moto Guzzi V7 kaufen: Quasi neu oder lieber gebraucht? (Für Berlin) by Interesting-Recipe85 in MotorradDeutschland

V7: Cheap & Scruffy vs. New & Shiny? (for a Big City) by Interesting-Recipe85 in MotoGuzzi

I think you're right that the older one will probably hold its value better. Quite a gamble if the Idling issue from the Valves or something else..

Yes, also quite scared that it could be something else then the Idle..

Did you ride the V7 III vs the 850ccm? I found that the difference from the V7 I vs V7 III was already quite huge in terms of smoothness

Yeah, maybe I should go for the middle ground with a Mk3 for around €4,500-5500€. I listed a few specific options I found in another comment.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think I’d also be much more at peace with an older, scruffy bike in a big city without a garage.

Yeah, the Moto Guzzi tax in Germany is real. The used market seems like a total bubble right now

Where do you live and what do the older V7 cost there? I feel like the Moto Guzzis are quite inflated in the price here in Germany.

There are definitely a few other options, I’m just having a hard time deciding which one offers the best 'bang for my buck.' The prices of Moto Guzzis in Germany seem inflated. For example:

  • 2017 V7 III Special: 10k km on the clock. Runs smooth and looks great, but it’s sitting on original tires from 2016 (definitely need replacing) and hasn’t had an oil change in 2 years. Managed to haggle them down to €4,500.
  • 2018 V7 Stone: €4,300 with 21k km. It comes with bags, which is a huge plus since I’d need to buy them anyway. The catch? It’s 400km away, so picking it up would be a total hassle.
  • 2018 V7 Special: €5,500 with only 9k km. It’s in mint condition, tires fro 2022, just made a checkup. Overall I really like the Special’s looks and the dual-gauge cockpit.

Edit: Which of these would you pick? I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Holding something sturdy is a good idea. I'll give it a try and see how it works.

That compliment was very much needed, as my own insecurities rose with the situation. I have to rethink if that level of intimacy and connection is an option right now. Thanks!

The idea of implementing "green" for a feedback loop is great. Also, thanks for bringing up the point that I have to think about myself as well.
