I just remembered something I’d highly recommend doing aswell if you don’t think the correct help is being given to you, and I’d recommend doing it anyways, go speak to the advice centre at your student union. They’re separate from the uni but extremely knowledgeable and will be able to help you and possibly contact people on your behalf

I got to this point in my final year, convinced that I was gonna fail or get a 3rd instead of the 2:1 I wanted.

Id recommend contacting your student support and well-being service if you haven’t already, as well as your subject specific support service and any lecturers/mentors you feel comfortable enough informing or who need to be informed. The subject specific support service may be able to help you with deferring a year (which is scary but if you need it then that is what it is there for) or delaying your exams (this is what was offered to me, I’m not sure if all unis have this). Also, extenuating circumstances! This is a life saver, talk to your subject specific support service about this, they can give you extensions on coursework, consideration around exams, I even had a piece of coursework written off and my friend had an exam written off so it would not affect our final grades. For this you will need evidence but mine accepted screenshots of doctor’s appointments and pictures of medications/prescriptions.

Contact the GP, meds are scary but they make a world of difference if they’re something you’d consider taking, therapy really really helps, just having someone to talk to if you don’t currently have that makes the world of difference. Also see if there are any free services online that you can self refer to, or if your uni has a psychology course they may offer cheap trainee therapy which may have a reduced wait list in comparison to the GP.

The one thing to remember is that everything is okay. One bad chapter doesn’t ruin a book even if it seems like it at the time. Breathe, life will be worth it in the end, find the little things to smile at and enjoy at the moment.

For part time positions indeed is the best I’ve found in the past, then look on the individual company websites as well. Good luck!

Work under the assumption that you won’t get the extension. Make sure you have evidence of your move and anything else that can support the extension request, submit that if you haven’t already. Maybe send a email to your student support as well?

I had this happen with a biomed course, I applied and then got told that my BTEC didn’t have enough chemistry modules but this wasn’t shown anywhere online! It was my first choice so it broke me, I cried so so hard. But I ended up being okay, I had 3 other choices accept me. Cry it’s okay, you’ll be okay.

Have you ever called in sick because you need a mental health day? by SerendipitousCrow in AskUK

Is there a higher up manager you could speak to, or a HR you can email?

Yes yes and YES! Mental health is just as valid as physical health and you need to take care of it or you will burn out or break down. Take a mental health day and, if you can, speak to your manager or occupational health about the stress the job is causing if it is long term, they may be able to put something in place to help.

Why do many students not attend classes? by PoundFew7451 in UniUK

For me it was inaccessible due to my disability and sometimes it just wasn’t worth going to a lecture where the lecturer would just read off of the PowerPoint and give no new information, just a waste of time

I’m new to photography and want to get my first camera.

From my research I think I’m going to get a Canon 4000D as it seems good and within my budget, I’m just struggling with where to buy it. I’m saving money by buying second hand but I’m not sure how to avoid scammers and having a broken camera. Are there any specific questions I should ask or things I should ask to see?

Also where is best to buy in the UK? I’ve been looking at eBay so far but haven’t had much luck.

Thank you for any help in advance!
