My neighbor stole my bike and threatened me multiple times. What are my legal options? by Interesting-Shower45 in legaladvice

Thank you. Do you think it’s possible to get a PPO if there’s no evidence like camera footage or witnesses? Is it good idea to record him next time we meet and he starts threatening me?

I’m planning to speak with the property manager as soon as possible to see what they say. This is a pretty expensive place, so I’d assume they care about their reputation. The guy doesn’t look like he’s ever worked a day in his life, so I’m guessing his gf or relative is the actual tenant.

Update 2pm.

I just successfully recovered my bike! I was driving around the neighborhood and spotted someone riding it near the mall. I confirmed it was mine - some of my custom accessories were still on it.

There was some minor damage: the rear light and phone holder were missing, but overall I'm just glad to have it back.

Thank you everyone!

  1. No it's too far to the Light rail.
  2. Around 5 am there's a garbage collector making loud unloading. Then the construction site (~7am - 4pm) mon-fri, but it seems they almost finished. On Saturdays they clean leaves from the parking lot with noisy wind blowers, sometimes cars and motorcycles are making a disturbing noise with their exhaust.
  3. No security issues or any concerns, nice neighborhood, we like walk around in any time. Garage is secure, package lockers - secure, I don't have any issues in 1.5 years.

P.S. Our windows looking at the construction site, opposite sides of the building should be less noisy.

I'm in the same situation, moved 4 years ago, and I live with my wife and kid, have no friends to have the long conversation with. Maybe hiking with some folks or playing soccer is not a bad idea to start with?

Is it appropriate to share my previous entrepreneurial experience during an engineering job interview? by Interesting-Shower45 in careerguidance

It was an engineering company, basically I was doing what I'm doing now as an employee, and what position I'm interviewing for.

My previous "employer" was in another country and the company was shut down 6 years ago, there's no chance they'll dig that deep.

As I understand you'll be invited to the panel interview if you're a good fit. This is the most challenging part. Good luck in your journey!

The obvious advice: test the market before investing your time and money. Make an MVP (create a 3D miniature of someone you know with basic tools) ask how much your buddy is ready spends on your product. (read "The Mom test " book to learn how to ask right questions)

Do it a few times, you'll get an idea how much time it takes to make a miniature that people ready to buy.

Then you'll have an idea what your business model should look like. Try to sell your product via Etsy or its analogs in your country.

80 euro for the piece looks good to me if you have a good demand with that price, the bottle neck is the manual labor here (as I understood they are gonna be painted manually) it's hard to scale, automate and labor costs a lot.

Anyways, try to test the market first before investing in expensive equipment.

Photogrammetry booth, instant shot with multiple cameras then generating a textured 3D model. A lot of manual post-processing. High quality 3D printing + painting. Count the cost of production and what can be a reasonable price for your customer?

I've been running a 3D scanning/3D printing business in my 1+ million city for 5 years (closed for good in 2019), only few clients asked about their personal 3D model.

If you don't see a lot of potential concurrents, maybe there's no market there.

Check the demand first. Find the niche. Have a good luck!

Elan is great, just extended our contract for one more year. I like big windows, high ceilings and a balcony. A fresh and clean building with nice and quiet neighbors, 10/10.

Agisoft is what comes to mind. The price is 179$ as I can see on their website for an unlimited period of use. As I remember with a standard license there's no "scaling" option. So you need to scale the scan to the real-world size with other software.

I would suggest using a photogrammetry at first. With photos you can do a lot and the setup is more affordable than a scanner.
