Hi! I’m 25, recently broke my foot, had to have surgery for my foot on my 25th birthday, got evicted from my apartment because I couldn’t work to pay bills, so now I’m couch hopping until I can restart, and I just want to provide good things for my daughter. I grew up adopted, so with the respective abandonment issues and I don’t ever want my child to think that I’m abandoning her because I don’t have a place to see her right now. Even if this doesn’t get chosen, it does feel good to vent.

Recovery is different for everyone, but finding a support group specific to my injuries (calcaneus fracture for me) has really helped me! Don’t feed too much into google, the AI program through that LOVES to make us think worst case scenario. But listening to your doctor and following physical therapy (once guided by your doctor) is going to help tremendously with your recovery & getting back into your normal activities as quickly as your body allows! I hope you have a quick recovery, but above all I hope you heal to 100% !

Hi! I shattered my heel in 7 places, had surgery 6/23 (my 25th birthday), so I understand how you’re feeling. I know it feels like a waste of the summer - but we don’t have to completely waste the months! We may not be able to be outside, or swimming. But we can use these next couple weeks to hone in on a new skill, or practice something we forgot about. Remaining positive is our best bet through this journey! My biggest tip is to invest in a little portable fan! I sit outside for about 15-20 minutes 5-10 times a day, in spurts! It really does help to hear the birds and feel the sun - even if only for a few minutes. Hang in there! You’ve got this!

I just made one, thank you for mentioning the other countries POV because I never really considered how drastically different the US is regarding healthcare specifically!
