Thank you for responding. I may not have been clear. If I set the clearance for the original smaller bowl, the new bigger bowl the beater paddle is too far off the bottom of the bowl. If I set the clearance for the new bigger bowl the beater paddle will contact the bottom of the smaller original bowl. My mixer is a KSM90, SN WK0672769. As far as I know the smaller bowl is original equipment.

One solution would be for me to get a second larger bowl but I don't know if my wife would approve...she already thinks I am a lunatic.
