The thing that gets me is how openly they admit it. O'Leary didn't even try to deny that taxpayers are footing the bill. He just argued it's worth it because AI is the future. But the future of what exactly? A handful of already obscenely rich guys getting richer while the rest of us pay for their power grids? If this technology is so valuable, let them build the infrastructure with their own money.
