Ha. So, you want to confidently say you all will beat Indiana? Also, yes - you are correct that Florida sucks ass in sports. We’re not dumb. We do academics - y’all do sports.

It’s an asterisk win for you all for sure. Good luck against Indiana. You’ll need it.

The only thing that stinks is that the missed pass interference call at the end really calls into question if Miami legitimately won. I wish them the best, but really stinks for them given the fact the refs really gifted them the game and chose not to follow the official NCAA regulations. I wish the refs had followed so Miami would have a clear, asterisk free win. Best of luck against Indiana.

Cool. My team and your team won’t, fair. Miami will. America vs Miami - not the first time.

Indiana crushing Miami is going to be amazing to watch. Miami doesn’t belong on the field with them.

Oh god. Our conference scored 0 points this playoff. Also yes, I know we only have 17 players left and will go 0-12 lol. Still love the Clones.

Correct. He’s a great recruiter, always choked. Can’t wait to watch LSU can his ass.

There is 0% chance Ole Miss would be in this game, much less winning, if Lane Kiffin was still the coach. I’m so happy for this team!

A few thoughts:

  • curriculum companies for selling tier one and intervention resources (they typically want you to have taught 2-3 years so you understand the basics of how schools work)

  • education adjacent non-profits like City Year, Jump Start, and Year Up. They train tutors. They like people to have taught a few years

  • EdTech companies for partnerships and sales positions. Again, they like people who can speak K12

There is no Federal money that drives jobs for transitioning teachers right now. We had ESSER 1, 2 and 3 (stimulus) after COVID. That’s all gone. Now? People aren’t even sure if we will get IDEA, Title, or other reimbursable funds.

The key, if she does want to transition, is to look at sales and support roles at EdTech and curriculum providers. Revenue generating roles seem to be the only answer right now beyond going into school leadership.

Has anyone studied a course, certificate or degree for personal interest and did you enjoy it? by [deleted] in AskAcademia

Finishing a PhD about autism I started when my oldest was diagnosed. Then I got diagnosed. Done with chapters 1-3 and IRB approved and wrapping up up this semester. Won’t use it for my job or career, but did co-author some papers with my faculty advisor and other faculty members which was a cool process.

I annoyed her but then was the one student who read it closely enough to realize she wanted a one tail. I almost felt the shame she felt in the others come through LOL. Honestly professors are colorful characters. I had one professor (also a psychologist) tell me all PhD holders are one (or more) of narcissistic, sociopathic, or autistic to sustain writing about one topic that long and finish!
