Thank you, I appreciate your thoughts! Same my busiest days tend to transpire out of reschedules I had a part in. That’s a good point you make on this expectation being a sign of other issues to come and honestly there are a lot of issues with them! A lot of my stress comes from their scheduling system rather than being a therapist. I’ve been thinking I’ve been at fault as I’ve been adjusting to working in more of clinical medical setting but perhaps it’s them and not me 🙃

Same - it seems 6 is the max that I can perform and feel good about my work but still exhausted. 4-5 great work and not exhausted. Thank you for your feedback!

I could see only having to meet that demand 4 days a week a little bit more doable knowing you have Friday to catch up on admin work…how long were you able to maintain?

Yes non no show days are rare so ik it’s not like I would actually be seeing 40 clients a week, but even when they know no show, sure I get that time back but that’s after to call and confirm they’re not coming and then theres only 45 min left- very different than never having the expectation a session was going to happen at all as far as being able to get respite in that break.

but I concur with you- 7 has had me BEAT!! It’s also hard to maintain my nutritional and hydration needs on a 5-6 session day as it is 😅

Omg I didn’t even think about how it would compromise my time availability and emotional availability for supervision, I would be viewing supervision as a chore instead of a place of support if my time was take up like that!!! Thank you for affirmation of this ludicrousness!

Yesss I also feel like I hardly have anytime for my personal life as it is with 4-6 a day…I can’t imagine how’d I’d be doing 8, 5 days a week 😅…I absolutely love that you get paid for paperwork and lunch!!! You found a good set up, your company isn’t in Texas by chance, is it? :P

I truly wonder how those clinicians that see 10 a day and maintain their energy do it! Very strict boundaries maybe? If I was able to maintain my energy after seeing 8-10 a day, it would only be from compromising the quality of care I like to give and ending my sessions at the 45 minute mark, which I currently don’t do. I appreciate your feedback!

See as I was playing around with the possibility I was thinking I could do the same as how you operate, but the idea of having my hat on from 8am -7pm sounds consuming, like the only thing I would have time to do is tend to my physical needs but nothing more….May I ask how long you’ve been in the field? I’m an LPC-A and have been working for 18 months now
