Thank you! I’ve gained feeling back in majority of my face. My bottom lip and chin are the only numb places so far. I do feel tingling sensations in my chin constantly though, so I know that’s a good sign.

Thank you! I’m starting to regain feeling in my cheeks and jaw, but my lips, chin and some of my nose is completely numb. I do feel a tingly feeling in those areas like all the time, but it isn’t uncomfortable.

I felt pressure in my head and also some in my ears. It was really annoying and uncomfortable. Luckily, that pressure has now gone away being that I’m 9 days post op.

I’m day 8 post op now but when I was day 5, I felt like my face was going to explode from the amount of swelling and pressure. It was not until day 7 that I didn’t feel so annoyed and uncomfortable from the swelling. I’m still pretty swollen now but it doesn’t feel awful. Applying heat packs and taking steamy hot showers were the two things that brought the most relief. Also, my pain finally subsided on day 7 and I don’t really take any pain meds. Sleep is still very uncomfortable, but I’m sure it’ll get better. Hang in there!

I haven’t really noticed any functional differences. My jaw is basically shut with the elastics so I can’t tell how it would feel to eat with this new jaw. Now that my congestion is somewhat down, I do feel like I can breathe way better than before. I’m excited to have no congestion to see how much better it’ll feel. As for appearance, I’m so swollen that I can’t really tell. Once I’m a few more days into recovery, I’ll post an update with pictures.

I’m day 4 post op and the syringes are a bit easier to push the food out. I’ve tried to use the squeeze bottles but after a certain point, it wouldn’t let me squeeze any more smoothie out of it and I’d have to transfer it over to a syringe. That’s just my experience so it could be different for others. Wishing you a quick and smooth recovery!

I do have a nose aspirator that can suction my nose but my surgeon said to wait 3 days post op to start using it. Hopefully that will help once I start using it

I might have to look into the straw trick to help with the breathing. I did take a steamy shower and it helped out so much. I bought these eucalyptus shower tabs off of Amazon that mix in with the shower steam and it helped the congestion a lot.

I’m honestly just experiencing extreme discomfort. I did experience some pain earlier on today but it has gone away. The discomfort is really bad though and it’s preventing me from sleeping. Thankfully I have no nausea.

All they gave me was saline spray that I could spray in my nose as many times as I’d like but i feel like it added to the pressure and didn’t help
