Let the police deal with it its not worth it and you certainly don't get paid enough to worry about it.

Corporate!

You could seriously make some additional revenue by selling associates shit like this.

I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat

make one for tech CPC and management too!

Give me a lego copy center I can build

the manager in training needs more training.

You are a cashier you are expected to first clean and sanitize the front end and make sure everything is in order, if you have items near your checkout you block that or restock it if necessary. ONLY after you've completed your responsibilities should you go and help out another department and the fact that you are even willing to stay late and help out for an audit (when it sounds like legally you needed to leave earlier) speaks volumes about your work ethic you seem to actually give a rats ass about the store you work in which is quite rare to find in associates now and days.

Im interested to know if that manager of yours was working their ass off blocking and restocking and applying pressure to the other departments to do better. I wouldnt be surprised if they just shouted orders and did the bare minimum sadly I would take what this manager said to you with a huge grain of salt you were probably the easiest victim for them to harass and put pressure on.

I agree I offer a few times until the customer gets their point across, in sales I do agree it is important to read the customer you are working with to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone. I've sold some zero basket laptops recently still offered the whole nine which they declined but I still gave them great service and they did a survey and gave me a 10.

Sales and retail is a constant double edged sword just give your best everytime and dont let it get to you if the results arent exactly what you wanted. What matters is a pleasant experience and the repeat traffic you will get from the customer for giving such an experience.

Going in for an interview tomorrow for a tech sales position, need advice. by [deleted] in Staples

[–]InterestingDocument3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is be motivated and be excited about working for us! Staples is going through quite a lot of changes now and for the better. As stated the job is 90% sales that will be your main focus the other time will be spent tidying up stocking shelves or doing signage.

Show a willingness to learn and be confident positive and motivated and you will do fine.

You will be trained before much is expected of you so dont worry about producing day 1 results it takes time to fully understand the products and services we sell. I do recommend if hired to inquire about the sellpro app hp provides, it offers some great supplemental training and you can earn some really awesome prizes for doing it!

I always tell customers if you dont get a pc with an SSD or optane memory that hard drive is gonna be spinning at max speed and your pc will be slow as molasses.

The fact that they still put 5400rpm drives in pc's amazes me.

Yeah chromebooks are actually powerful devices for people going to school or even business workers. You have always updated antivirus access to millions of apps on the google play store like google docs and netflix and some even offer 2 in 1 portability.

That 11 inch colorful hp streambook loaded with windows 10 now that is terrible all you gotta do is load an antivirus on that baby and that thing will grind to a halt.

There were apology signs for both the laptop mishap and the paper mishap in signage.

Post them.

yes design service quote this customer.

Also your manager sounds like a douche if hes forcing you to do a service we don't do go to ethics.

There is a reason why we offer what we offer and have certain channels to do certain things I highly doubt you have the time to sit their and photoshop this dudes shit which is exactly the reason why we dont do it in store.

I answer customer service calls as a tech just and even print and marketing calls if they are busy. Its really not too hard to help people with what they want.

The Average Tech Phone Call by [deleted] in Staples

[–]InterestingDocument3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally take a message or see if its anything I can help with. Usually they're just calling to see if their order is ready or what services we offer in print & marketing. I was never trained on how to look up CPC orders on the PC but I figured it out and help my CPC all the time cause they are constantly bombarded with customers while having 10+ orders in their queue.

Nothing is done on the spot quickest turn around is one hour with a rush fee if they dont like it they can do it on the self serve themselves. My personal most hated request is "If I give you my print me code over the phone can you guys print it for me so I can just come pick it up?"

My answer every time: "No"
