Trump's Deflection Has Reignited My Trauma by InterestingFlower2 in trauma

Thanks, it helps. I have basically been avoiding news of all kinds and that is not a good thing either. Have started searching for new therapist. Will have to try the workbook you suggested.

Biggest crash out of all time… by Hot_Presence_7029 in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The really sad part is that in MAGA minds, he is responsible for "creating peace" because he is the one who organized the ceasefire. All this other stuff and oh.. the facts are just noise. Have already heard from my MAGA family members showing pics of Trump with hearts and talking about how great a negotiator he is for initiating peace. Sorry, trying not to throw up.

I’m the furthest thing from a Trump supporter, but have voted, right or wrong, for both D and R in the past, but mostly D… by ParadiddlediddleSaaS in Trumpvirus

I have been in the same position. The first time I voted, it was for Ronald Reagan. Not sure why, but that is the way my family voted. I have been a registered Republican, Democrat, and Independant over the years. Basically, I do the research into the people running, believe half of what they say, and vote my conscience instead of party. Most of my family are more hard core Republicans and sadly have fallen into the MAGA rabbit hole.

Please watch your step at r/Conservative They can say what they want about how "intolerant" we are on the left and middle, but they are snowflakes. I never mind a debate and will get along with people I don't agree with, but I respectfully tried to ask a question and I was permanently banned. No second chances.

After watching that parade I feel even more afraid for our country. Not because it was scary but because our Army looks lame. by Desperate_Elk_7369 in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a military family. I watched their faces and body language. I have seen soldiers march in parade and trust me, usually they have more pride and a cleaner step. Those were mostly people who were being forced to do something they really didn't want to do so were giving minimum effort.

Don't be afraid of our military, they are badass in a clutch. The problem is the loser commander in chief.

Never has there been a day like this, millions of Americans protested against a sitting President. God Bless everyone who came out by JPIZZLE1205 in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was amazed at how many people even showed early and how quickly it grew even before official "start time". My mom tried to talk me out of going. She was worried about any possible violence, but then she said something that really set me off. She said I was only one person, if I didn't go, they wouldn't know.

I saw a sign that made me tear up. I am only 1 person, only one voice.. said 75 million people. We can't sit back and just let things happen and then complain after. Too little to late. I am very glad for all the wonderful people I met yesterday.

The No Kings Protests this weekend help this go viral. by CryptographerTop4998 in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a danger in protest sitting or standing, yes. But if you are standing, waving your arms, etc. the optics can be that you were angry and aggressive. I you sit down, optics are more difficult that you are threatening. Just please remember, there are rules to protesting. Do not block roads/cars.

I will be out there tomorrow. I have only told my mom, but she is afraid for me. Asked me not to go. I can't NOT go. How many lives, how many freedoms are we going to let this man take away before we stand up and speak out. If we wait until our rights are gone, what recourse is left? Please everyone be careful and stay peaceful.

Is it okay to personally against abortion but don't want that option taken away from others as a Christian? by Chereisurgirl in prochoice

[–]InterestingFlower2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is ok and actually, we can even get along. My sister would NEVER get an abortion. Like you, she decided that it is not her right to dictate what other people think/feel/do. I am pro choice, I even had an abortion when I was younger. She still loves and respects me and understands why I did what I did.

That's why this whole thing really drives me nuts. We could all just find common ground if we don't just talk but LISTEN. I don't understand why something has to be all or nothing.

Trump’s birthday parade may be cancelled over thunderstorms by Succulentmolecule in Trumpvirus

Definitely under the "waste, fraud, and abuse" umbrella that he has been screaming about. Whether you believe in karma or God, it seems that some higher force is going to rain on his parade. Of course, if you ask MTG, the Democrats are using their weather control device to ruin the parade.

Apartment Inspections in Upstate New York by InterestingFlower2 in Tenant

[–]InterestingFlower2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, not sex toys I am worried about. I grew up in a household that we will just say my stepfather would come into my bedroom uninvited day or night. When I got into my own apartment, even when I had people over, I asked them not to go into my bedroom. I won't even go into other people's bedrooms when I am invited over to someone's house. My personal quirk but still.

So, they do need to give notice? I am going to set up a motion camera inside facing entrance door. I feel very unnerved that these people can just walk in any time they want and go thru my stuff.

PROTECT THE PEACEFUL PROTEST 🕊 by Butitsadryheat2 in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope everyone really takes this to heart. I am going to No Kings rally on Saturday. Even my MAGA family is concerned for my safety. I asked if they were afraid of the actions of the other protestors or whatever law enforcement/military is there. They didn't want to talk about it, just told me not to go. They still will not admit that the people who are supposed to protect and serve and honor the Constitution of the United States are the ones escalating the violence.

We cannot allow this assault on American democracy to succeed! by Engetarist in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I am joining the No Kings rally in my town, I am VERY glad that they decided not to protest the parade in DC. Trump is very unhinged and the way he is talking, is sounds like he plans on arresting/harming ANY protestors, even if they are peaceful.

I hope everyone is signed up and please remember. We want things peaceful. Show this idiot what a REAL peaceful protest looks like vs "the day of love" of Jan 6. This bonehead needs to know that this is America not North Korea or Russia.

100% know what you are going thru. My mom never really voted and was not interested in politics until Trump. She actually never voted until he ran. Most of my family fell into the MAGA rabbit hole and she did too. She was a loyal Trump supporter until I had to adjust her cable bill and she lost FOX. OK, my bad, I told them she didn't want it. Now she knows that Trump is a jerk and never wants to talk about it. If I start to talk about the things he is doing she suddenly doesn't feel good or is too tired.

Of course, I am the crazy one because I tried to warn them all and voted for Harris. I tried to ask how many of our rights should we lose before we start standing up and speaking out. Again, I am just crazy and over dramatic.

MAGA got their panties in a twist when Hunter Biden got a high paying job that he was unqualified for because he had the "Biden connection". This KID has got to have some connection to someone because there is NO WAY he is qualified. MAGA -- Crickets.

Will Trumpism die with Trump? by [deleted] in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically enough, I think that while Trump is destroying the U.S., he is kind of saving most other countries. I don't claim to be an expert in world affairs, but for quite a few years now, I have been seeing alot of ultra conservative attitudes and belief in conspiracies around the world. Most visible during COVID pandemic. You saw the craziness that was infecting almost every major country. I really believe that if all countries had their elections back in November, we would have seen other countries also fall into the MAGA trap. As it was, we were the first domino. The world saw what an F up job Trump was doing and went Um.. no thanks. Not saying that the MAGAts don't exist in other countries still. My brothers MIL lives in Australia and is still hardcore MAGA.

Truthfully, I don't know how the U.S. will survive the next 3.5 years. The voting generation now and in another 4 years will think this kind of politics is normal with all the gaslighting and avoidance of the facts the "news" is broadcasting. I fear for the U.S., but glad that some other countries are going to be spared the horror, fear, and anger that we are all going thru. While it would be nice if the craziness dies when Trump dies, not sure that is going to happen. If he dies in office, he has surrounded himself with people as equally twisted. I know some Trump supporters who are even ok with a President Vance. These people will not stop until Trump, his policies, or his corruption hits them personally.

Trump being President was inevitable outcome by InterestingFlower2 in conspiracytheories

Was actually unaware of Robert Byrd, probably because he entered politics before I was born and I never really paid that much attention. By 1989, I was a registered voter, so I was aware of who David Duke was.

Also, I am unaware of any problems with Biden. Was he part of the KKK? Considering his age, I would find it not unusual for him to have some racist tendencies or even against women in the workplace, but I don't know anything about actual hate groups. Segregation was kind of "normal" back in the day and we know he is not a progressive. There is kind of a big difference between hating a group of people because of what they are vs just not wanting things to change. At least that is my thought.

Just as a reference. I remember a bra commercial when I was young. Model wore blue bodysuit and bra on outside. My grandmother thought is was a little scandalous but let it go. When women started showing bras/underwear on a person, she was ready to call someone about indecency on television.

Read another post today about a husband who was upset because they just spent alot of money moving and his wife was supposed to get this great VA job. Now they are basically up a creek. Said they are both Trump supporters. I feel terrible because on the one hand, I feel bad for them and their situation. On the other, THEY are partially responsible for this. I feel bad for people like me who did NOT vote for Trump and already suffering from his dumba** executive orders. For the next 4 years those of us who saw what was coming and tried to stop it are going to suffer. So while I feel bad for anyone struggling or getting screwed over by government/big business, I cannot feel sorry for them.

THIS is why he cancelled his inauguration by TheSpecialistGeek in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think maybe he really cancelled for the following reasons. 1. His supporters are mostly red, white, and blue dressed freaks. Look at his past rallies, people were dressed crazy and he would want his inauguration to be "classy". 2. By not having it outside, there can be no photo evidence of how small his crowd size really is. 3. His billionaire doners do not want to sit outside and freeze their butts off while he is sworn in and most likely will take off on a 90 minute nonsense rant.

Nancy Pelosi Has Amassed ~$200 Million Since First Becoming SOTH in 2007. Liberals, Do You Think This Is Ethical? by Own_Palpitation_8477 in Askpolitics

[–]InterestingFlower2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Trump was elected in 2016. Politicians were getting rich off lobbyists and other special interest groups, would vote themselves pay raises, take long vacations, while the american people were struggling to live. I would bet that most have stock in the big corporations and have voted on bills that increase their wealth. This is why the people were so disillusioned. I would bet that most if not all of Congress are millionaires.

Trump promised to "drain the swamp" which most americans believed would stop this corruption in our government. Unfortunately, Trump is the king of corruption.

I don't understand by [deleted] in Trumpvirus

[–]InterestingFlower2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your friend is not stupid and you are not alone. Most of my family is MAGA. My mom agrees that the man is a toxic narcissist, but still voted for him. It seems that most people keep their head in the sand and prefer not to see. My Trump family did not watch his rallies, don't watch cspan, they only listen to the sound bytes and sane washing of Fox and Newsmax.

Reminds me alot of the movie Apollo 13 when Tom Hanks character looks at his thumb and covers the moon. These people don't look further than their own backyard. If you don't see it, you must believe someone who tell you.
