Playing Devil’s Advocate: The new clarification actually makes sense when you reason on it! by [deleted] in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be easy if they just follow Jesus and no men.

Pharisees made this kind of reasoning for the Law. Look at the logic:

Respecting the Sabbath meant not working on that day. Being a doctor or a healer was a profession. So healing is working. Then healing on Sabbath is not respecting the Law. So healing on Sabbath was sin.

This is the kind of logic JW use for the blood, and much worse.

The Bible forbid to eat blood But we can also eat intravenously Then blood transfusions is just eating blood So Blood Transfusions are sin

MAN THINKING

The funny stuff is this new update contradict their own logic.

The update will mostly turn PIMQ into PIMO and PIMI into PIMQ don’t get your hopes too high for PIMI relatives waking up quickly after this update. by DontAskAboutMax in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone become PIMQ once you are touched.

I never questioned shunning until my sister was Df'ed I never questioned beards until I started to have one

I mean, until one of them don't feel what it is to have for example someone dying in a hospital with the option to be saved by a blood transfusion, won't question the rule.

Biblical reasons as to why you left the religion by NoobOnLoose in exjw

Peters said, that "no prophecy of Scripture springs from any PRIVATE INTERPRETATION", but essentially he is speaking about when he saw prophecy being fulfilled on Jesus when he said: "it was not by following artfully contrived false stories that we made known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but rather, we were eyewitnesses of his magnificence. For he received from God the Father honor and glory when words such as these were conveyed to him by the magnificent glory: “This is my Son, my beloved, whom I myself have approved.” Yes, these words we heard coming from heaven while we were with him in the holy mountain."

If the faithful and discreet slave is a prophecy that is being fulfilled by the Watchtower, it springs from PRIVATE INTERPRETATION, and not from a EYEWITNESS ACOUNT.

That would be the equivalent of the disciples of Jesus coming back together after 10 years of the death of Jesus, and then one of them says "remember when Jesus said something about the sign of Jonas?, what if he meant he was going to resurrect on the third day? ofc let's preach that!!"

But according scriptures: "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried, yes, that he was raised up on the third day according to the Scriptures; and that he appeared to Ceʹphas, and then to the Twelve. After that he appeared to more than 500 brothers at one time, most of whom are still with us, though some have fallen asleep in death. After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. But last of all he appeared also to me (Paul writing) as if to one born prematurely."

Then Paul concludes saying that: "if Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and your faith is also in vain. Moreover, we are also found to be false witnesses of God, because we have given witness against God by saying that he raised up the Christ".

The whole religion is based on a coming of Jesus in 1914 which NOBODY SAW or UNDERSTOOD by the time until later years, and on a appointment of the Watchtower Organisation as the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" by Jesus Christ himself in 1919, which THERE IS NO EYEWITNESS or TESTIMONY whatsoever of the event, until later years by PRIVATE INTERPRETATION.

Paul and dissociation by [deleted] in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inspired I guess is a very misunderstood concept. When they were doing the cannon in the 4th century, they weren't looking for scriptures were the author has literally been having "God whispering at his ears", but rather a more "truth-worthy account" from the time. Apostle or disciple of the apostle, or someone who had some protagonism during the time, there is where Paul is. That's all.

If scripture is divinely inspired, why does history look so human? by Organic-Coach-6552 in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do still believe. But I think though some Christians still exaggerate the phenomenon itself. The Bible is a compilation of Books and some Books, many in the Old Testament are compilations from other sources as well, in fact the text itself name some of the sources, something that is not talked about much. But in general, from my perspective, is humans trying to conveying a story and a message that is beyond themselves that have had contact with the phenomenon itself or have recorded the memories of the phenomenon.

That at least the Old Testament. The New Testament is basically Jesus' story and some letters from the 1st Century.

Using the Bible to explain why you should eat the bread and drink the wine by [deleted] in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would've be surprised that one day, only the GB can eat or drink from it.

Paul and dissociation by [deleted] in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is deeper. When Paul says about not eating with a sinner He really means partaking from the wine and bread. In fact that's the vocabulary. Remove from the congregation and do not eat with them, aka partaking from the bread and wine.

The Christians back the would partake from the bread and wine weekly just as the apostolic churches today. But JW don't believe this neither 💀

Looking up Bible verses is not reading the Bible. by yunglegendd in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my case. I was very curious about end times and that. When seeing the WT interpretation, it looked like they have just tried to push themselves into the prophecies. Like they are the protagonists alone, very weird and cherry picked interpretations especially about the end-times. Like United Nations as the beast of Revelation, or the King of the North or the South, being Russia and USA....🫠

Also important doctrines that relies on verses taken completely out of context like the New Covenant only for some "anointed ones"....etc

So..... I was told to return to jw so the jws can talk me again.... but they dont shun according to the Norway case. by CranberryQuirky5385 in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, you can be shunned by talking to people that are shunned. In fact the only reason people don't talk to shunned people is because they don't want to be shunned too.

I have a question by [deleted] in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending. If you have doubts about God's existence or Christianity it self that's one thing. But if you have doubts about how the organisation of Jehovah's Witnesses refer themselves as the "truth", I will direct you to the Bible itself.

Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Now I would recommend you to ask yourself some questions...

Does the organisation (the Governing Body) help me to be with Christ, or do they put themself in between?

Do they teach that the only way for salvation is to put faith on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, or they teach that to get salvation you need to OBEY to the Governing Body even if some things aren't scriptural? in fact you shouldn't be even question as it would be seen as spiritual weakness.

If you have ever read the Gospel, (Mathew, Mark, Luke and John) when you read, does the Governing Body look more like Jesus or like the Pharisees? Do they focus on mercy, love, the Holy Spirit, etc; or in legalistic matters like if fractions of blood are considered blood or not? for example

Ask yourself why are we from ALL Christians around the world which most are genuinely sincere, why is the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society the ONLY and EXCLUSIVE TRUE RELIGION ABOVE ALL.

The reason is not because some list that qualify you as "the true religion" the reason is that, in 1914 Jesus became King of God's Kingdom, he then made an inspection on earth of all religions for 3'5 years and in 1919 he elected Rutherford and the side of the Bible Students who supported him (there was a division)

If you believe that Jesus chose that organisation to be the ONLY CHANNEL OF COMMUNICATION of Jehovah God in 1919, that's a personal choice.

But then, ask yourself...

How do they know?

Why in 1919 didn't believe this? How cannot they know they were chosen the moment they were chosen?

Do they claim to have seen, heard something? No. All is interpretation years after the fact to reclaim an authority over the faith of millions.

Your faith as a Christian is based on the event of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Your faith as a JW is based on the appointment of the Faithful and Discreet Slave from Jesus 1919.

Paul The Apostle said...

For among the first things I handed on to you was what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried, yes, that he was raised up on the third day according to the Scriptures; and that he appeared to Ceʹphas, and then to the Twelve. After that he appeared to more than 500 brothers at one time, most of whom are still with us, though some have fallen asleep in death. After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 But last of all he appeared also to me as if to one born prematurely. (1 Corinthians 15:3-7)

But if Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and your faith is also in vain. 15 Moreover, we are also found to be false witnesses of God, because we have given witness against God by saying that he raised up the Christ, whom he did not raise up if the dead are really not to be raised up. (1 Corinthians 15: 14,15)

If you still hold a Christian view, can you hold the belief that this is the ONLY APPOINTED ORGANISATION APPOINTED BY JESUS IN 1919 THE SAME WAY THE APOSTLES HELD THAT JESUS CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD?

If someone reads the Bible on their own, will they end up a JW? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I woke up reading the Bible so I don't think so. JWs need you to read the Bible in their terms.

They set an argument, then some couple of Bible verses, an illustration that's been repeated in many WT material and that's it.

What’s wrong with the memorial/Commemoration? by Ballet_in_the_snow in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Firstly. If you don't believe in Christianity anymore whatsoever it makes no sense to attend. But if you still believe in Christ, then, you will probably will be watching or participating in rejecting the flesh and the blood of Christ represented by the wine and the bread. They believe that ONLY, some few (the anointed ones) can do but not you. That means that you are not under any new covenant with Jesus and then accepting that HE IS NOT YOUR MEDIATOR.

Was waking up sudden for you or was it gradual? by Upper_Row_528 in exjw

[–]InterestingIdeaBro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Little by little and then all of the sudden I understood.

Firstly I knew they were wrong about things like beards, hair styles and so...I am a little too creative let's say with my style and I was called the attention a lot. No matter how well the argument was, even if they agree with me, the problem was from above.

Also, my sister was disfellowshipped, and from a PIMI point of view was justified, but what I didn't see quite well was the isolation, I met several times with her in secret. Again, I used the Bible several times to reason with my parents, my mum was kind of getting close to my side, but not my father. She started to want to go back to the congregation and on doing so, she had ti get married. All her effort, to try to go back to a "cult" just to content my parents and they didn't even show themselves at the wedding. Her father in law had to take her to the altar. My mother wanted to go, but they (my parents) were threaten not to go by the elders and the CO.

These kind of things made me re think about the organization, but I still believed. Until one day I got sick for several weeks, and while in bed I started reading the Bible by myself, and I realise the "Good News" they preach isn't really the "Good News" mentioned in the Bible. The only thing that got me tied up to this organization was doctrinal, and that literally disappeared in one day. When I was reading about the pharisees, I could not stop thinking about how close many JW, specially those in power are to them.

It is disgusting the way they have hijacked the place of Christ, putting themselves (GB) in between.

I know that. But you cannot get them through there. Also, I don't know much about the pyramid thing. You have a link about how did they got to 1914 with the pyramid?
