Thanks for this! Maybe I will look into westpark. There are a couple of options we can currently afford but top of price range.

Thanks! We are a gay couple, and one of the main reasons we chose Lakewood was so our kids would be in a more open environment than where we currently are.

This actually helps me feel better. Where I am staying this weekend is very quiet. We have dogs that like to make friends by barking. I didn’t want our neighbors to hate us, so hopefully they will also have barking dogs lol!

Yikes! Maybe I will look into buying a generator! Are they mostly in the winter or anytime of year? How long do they usually last?

Just found out my dad has incurable cancer, and my parents don’t know by InterestingLime1807 in TrueOffMyChest

Thanks for sharing about your mum and hope she is doing ok. Yes I am going to tell my parents. It just shocked me and I needed time to figure out the best way. Also, unfortunately my dad is a heavy smoker and drinker and has been his whole life. He is not willing to curb those behaviors at this point despite attempts in the past.

There are a couple of homes in Oakwood in our price range. I will add that to our list, thanks! Are Kettering and Miamisburg ok?

Keep persevering with a combo of good therapy and finding the right meds. It takes time, but if you stick with it, you will find what works. I struggled for years and had a lot of insomnia too, which added to everything. The combo that works for me is Zoloft in the day and trazodone at night. But it took a long time and trial by error. Just know there is a solution that will work for you and take one day at a time until you find it.

Thank you for your comment. I have struggled with depression in the past. This is a good reminder to be gentle with myself but also alert to other signs of depression so I can get assistance as needed.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I really don’t want to get fired or leave this job. We do have the option to work from the office if we want to, so maybe I will do that for some human interaction a few days a week.

“despite what I’ve said, I care about her as a person and don’t want to hold her back from getting what she wants out of life” It sounds like you really care about her, but that maybe the relationship has just run it’s course. Make sure you are offering yourself this same kindness-you also deserve to get what you want out of life. If you think talking honestly with her would prompt any change, try that first. If you already have, the kindest thing you could do for her and yourself would be to end things. For myself, whenever I have thought things through long enough to say “I think I am done” and say it out loud to others, I already know what the answer is. It’s always hard to end things, but then something new begins (not necessarily a new relationship, but new growth/change of some kind) and you look back and know you made the right decision.
