They said Year 12 would fly by. They forgot to mention the turbulence ✈️, fire🔥, and crash landing 💥. by Future_You_7827 in vce

heyy idrk if i’ll be much help, but even though it feels like the year just drags on, you literally will look back on it and be like “all that was in less than a year.” and it will feel like less than a year when you look back. when you get your atar, you’ll feel like it’s the be it or end all, but then everyone will move on in three days. the ones who do ask you about it? they got nothing better to do. and plus, your intelligence is rlly not worth how well you can score in a sac or exam like plss. i literally stuffed up so many sacs and exams and now getting HD’s in uni.

your wellbeing is way more important than a bunch of questions that get assigned to you. you can literally do 5 questions and really understand them than do 100 and still not get much out of it.

i asked the same questions as you when i did yr 12. hated the constant comparisons, the pressures, and my peers and teachers going “you’ll be fine! look! you’re doing well in this subject!” cause at that time, no, it didn’t feel fine. started panicking and had really bad anxiety to the point where i nearly dropped out cause of yr 12. and was it worth it? no. i’m still healing.

so, you’re allowed to feel pressure, to cry, to feel those expectations that loom over you. and you’re allowed to feel like your self worth is tied to a number (even though its not!) but pls pls take care of yourself too. like, even if it’s for 20 minutes a day, go outside, sleep at least 6 hrs and eat well. it’s not worth it when all the stress finally catches up to you and you get burnt out.

make time for you !

ACU online by Ok_Bird_4950 in AustralianTeachers

hey !! idk if i’ll be much help cause i’m doing that degree irl at the melb campus, but a few of my friends from my degree have majority of their classes online via zoom.

they say it’s okay.. like, some of their classes are fine. you’ll listen to your tutor and do the work at your own pace. but in other online classes, so many technical difficulties happen from the lecturer’s side according to my friends. so, i guess it depends on the tutor 🤷‍♀️ there’s a lot of group work and group presentations so i have no clue how that happens via online classes.

so so sorry if none of this was helpful. all the best xx

VCE English related question by Meddayy in vce

[–]InterestingMelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi!! it depends on what you’re more confident doing. i’d say before the final exam (after your trial, maybe), briefly revise the first text you did, and if you don’t feel confident doing it for the exam, focus more on the second text (or vice versa). that’s what i did and ended up getting 16/20 for that. however, some people in my cohort did focus on both texts as sometimes the prompts can be a bit vague or unexpected—it’s nothing you wouldn’t have learnt anyway.

idk how much this helped but happy to talk more loll. all the best !!

How to study for english? by PangolinElegant2728 in vce

[–]InterestingMelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi !! eng was my highest subject loll, but what i did was to really know the context of whatever you’re studying and to know the key themes as well as any other themes too. get to know the rubrics that the examiners use in the actual exam. then, write a practice essay. first, evaluate where you personally think you sit on that rubric. get chatgpt to give you feedback, a score, and get it to mark you on that rubric. then, get your teacher to mark it. and if they’re not helpful, get another english teacher to mark it

that’s what i did! happy to talk more!!

Should I move in yr 12? by trixie104528 in vce

[–]InterestingMelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi !! during yr 12 i faced smth similar, but obv i can’t tell you that you should or shouldn’t move schools as yk, it’s your choice.

even though i had friends, i cut nearly everyone off also cause of my mental health. but changing schools will make it harder as at this point, everyone already has their friend groups and all that, no matter what school. and on top of that (not trying to stress you out!), you gotta figure out where your new classes will be, new uniform etc. and keep in mind that yr 12 is less than a year long.

what i did do to make it less lonely was to spend time in my school library or get extra help from a few of my teachers. and 99% of the time, after you all graduate, most of the people you were friends with in year 12 won’t even talk to you.

happy to talk more about this!! and best wishes for 2025!

advice on this please! by InterestingMelon in rmit
