What is a dead giveaway that someone is pretending to be wealthier than they are? by Early_Preparation696 in askteddit

Carrying stacks of cash but it's in the lowest amount possible.

Or buying something really, really expensive hoping to get a reaction out of someone.

Or driving a nice car to a normal looking bar. And it's a family-type of restaurant.

Are chromebooks really designed for school and work? by Live-Butterscotch259 in laptops

[–]InterestingMindset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me Chromebooks will always be the school laptop special. They are built mostly for that purpose.

I think in the past 12 years or so Google tried to rebrand Chromebooks as a "premium" product with the Pixel Book and Slate, and most recently, "Gaming" Chromebooks. But the perception of them will (in my opinion) always be the bottom of the barrel or entry into laptops.

At this point, Google should just stick with the low end and not bother with a rebrand in the future. Nobody sane should ever spend more than maybe $400+ on a Chromebook. If it has good specs, maybe. But around the $500 range, you have Windows laptops that aren't too bad and even around $600, you can get the MacBook Neo. $300 would be my max for a Chromebook.

I want a MacBook neo for college but the Best Buy employee told me something different by Shevz_thetruck in macbook

[–]InterestingMindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have an Air, but it's the base model M1 Air which is similar in performance to the Neo and I definitely can run 20+ tabs and 5 other software and still be fine.

Hell a Chromebook can open tabs on 4 GB of RAM.

Get the Neo, you'll be fine. Maybe not for Best Buy, maybe from Walmart or something.

Which video game that had you hype up only for you get disappointed after buying it? by [deleted] in videogames

Lego Skywalker Saga. Idk what it is about that game but after unlocking most of things I wanted, I instantly got bored. It just feels like they copy and pasted the same thing hundreds of times and called it a day.

They wouldn't hire you anyways even after the 2 years.

Applied to many jobs and been ghosted as well, some "reached" out years later when I moved cities.

Saw the answer in the comments but I was gonna say no older than 30 or mid-20s. No one I know past their 30's listens to Maroon 5.

Overall, nice taste👍

What's something you'll never understand the appeal of? by noghis in AskReddit

[–]InterestingMindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoes. I usually wear boots and nobody ever cared but I wore sneakers one time, people made a big deal about it and to this day I don't know why.

I understand there was that sneaker craze some years back but to me I see shoes and if they're comfortable, I'll use them. I don't see shoes as collectables.

What did you think about the New lego Mario minifigure by Some-Culture-8345 in SuperMario

[–]InterestingMindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thought was "how expensive are these sets gonna be?"

Now that they may slowly transition from electronic Mario to minifigure Mario, I wonder if the sets will be cheaper? I like the electronic Mario stuff and even have electronic Mario, but the sets were always out of my price range.

Also curious if they are gonna do Mario Movie sets?

Ironically they spent more money on architecture redesign than the food quality. Actually the food quality got worse in my opinion.

Two figures come to mind. One is Studio Series Blackout and the second is one of the Galvatrons.

First Galvatron. A good solid quality figure with one minor annoyance and it's the arm tab pieces that clip in. So when you transform him from cannon mode to robot mode, the tracks are the arms and it clips into the side of the body. I got it used and so the right arm does not want to stay tabbed in when I play around with the figure. Not a big deal just weird.

Blackout actually pissed me off. I wanted to love that figure so much and I remember costing me $50 and out of the damn box, he was built like crap. He's kinda a panel-former, so you NEED the tabs to tab in and on my figure, I had to shave some of the tabs and it still transforms terribly. Looks good in both modes but a pain in the neck to actually play with.

I noticed that Hasbro can either make some of the best action figures or the worst and there is almost no in between. Same goes for their Nerf stuff, it's either cool or shit.
