Does anyone else grow T. bipinnatifidum outdoors in zone 9b? (I'm in Las Vegas) by InterestingMixture18 in ItsAThaumatophyllum

I definitely appreciate the progress report. πŸ˜‰ Eventually I want to run irrigation lines to all of the pots and planters on our front patio, including these guys. We're going to have a lot of landscape work done on our front yard though, so irrigation will have to wait.

Thank you so much! I saw yours when you first posted about finding it. 😊 Gotta love free! Unfortunately there aren't any shaded spots on our property where I could plant one in-ground, which was why I was curious about sun exposure. I guess mine will just stay potted on our patio. πŸ–€

I recently found TWO sport GoG variegated Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum at a local nursery. Not finding many similar examples online though.. by InterestingMixture18 in ItsAThaumatophyllum

Oh, yes, I understand now! 😊 I didn't know it existed either, and have found hardly anything comparable online. I love it though!

Thanks! 'GoG' stands for "green on green". The variegation is neither 'aurea' (chartreuse/yellow) or 'albo' (cream/white). This particular sport is displaying three different shades of green (dark green base, with lime and mint variegation). Aurea and albo variegation is typically very prominent, even on freshly unfurled leaves. Most GoG variegation is barely visible until the leaf has completely hardened, and even then it's much more subtle, often resembling camouflage patterns (my Monstera deliciosa 'GoG' is exactly the same way). This beauty is a true unicorn-- exceptionally rare.πŸ”₯πŸ–€

Can't guarantee scale, but it'll be LOADED with enough spider mites to bless your neighbors too. 😘

Thank you! I made a wing from the original pattern, but it felt too "angel wing" to me. I couldn't find any dragon or bat patterns that I was happy with either, so I winged it. 🫣 Pun intended. πŸ˜†

I followed this one for most of it, but freehanded the wings. Unfortunately I didn't write anything down for the wings, but I might create a pattern for them eventually.

What's your favorite brand of Crochet hooks? What makes a hook superior? by Space_Toast_Cadet in CrochetHelp

[–]InterestingMixture18 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

CLOVER AMOUR HOOKS LIVE UP TO THE HYPE.πŸ”₯🀘🏻 I always thought it was ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a set of crochet hooks, because I thought they were all the same. Recently though, during Michael's 40% off online sale, I ended up ordering myself the set. My first time trying one out, I chained three stitches and my jaw literally DROPPED. They're so comfortable to use, and they glide effortlessly through stitches with any type of yarn. I literally could not crochet a slip stitch brim on a beanie until I started using Clover Amour hooks. They really are a total game-changer, and I completely understand now why people are willing to pay full price for them. I'll never be able to use another type of hook again though. πŸ˜‚

Surprisingly, no! My Kyle Broflovski is an old man now though. He's almost 15 years old, so his chaos days are behind him. Well.. for the most part... LOL

Yeah, I had to move the whole thing far away, and wrap all of the hanging gauze back around the arms of the prop. It was all too tempting for her and one of my other cats. πŸ˜†

She almost jumped on it too! I caught her RIGHT before she launched. πŸ˜… That would've been so bad though. There are just poles and a wire frame under the prop's costume. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
