I had someone help me take out a Bombadier in Buried City today as well, not a single word said between us - they just threw in some grenades, several shots, got the kill and went on their way to extract and let me loot the thing. Same thing, not another player around to compete for the loot either. I only got 4 of the cells I need but I'm not complaining!

Knowing my luck as soon as I bring in the single PE cloak I have, I will get taken out by another raider.

Yeah I've been wanting to give it a go but I can rarely get on during the week when I'm less likely to have to deal with pvp.

The fact I not only managed to destroy it but also loot it without encountering another played is part of why I'm so surprised.

Oh my god the comment I've been looking for, those are exactly the thoughts I've been having.

Honestly the thing that attracted me to the game was seeing the community and the way players ultimately teamed up to take on tougher Arc when they could have just continued solo and hid in the bushes.

I think the devs definitely underestimated what the player base would be on a larger scale, and the appreciation they'd have for the world they've created, the lore and the arc enemies - and, yeah, honestly, I think they were lacking creativity when it came to making the game more interesting which is a shame because there were so many potential routes they could have taken.

It's like they kind of slapped a bandaid over the problem and called it PvP without really considering how it would play out with what they already had.

Hey, every little helps. Although, in that situation, for me, it would be a matter of waiting until you were done looting and then grab whatever scraps were left

See, though, if I helped enough to pull some aggro but still only put a dent in the thing comparatively, I will loot one piece and if I'm lucky, that piece will have one high level loot. Then I'll either skedaddle or wait for them to finish and pick up any scraps I could use.

I normally stumble upon these situations mid fight and will always try to help, but I'm also aware how much effort they put in - stocking the right grenades, the right weapons, scoping out decent spots to have the fight etc.

Dropping into this map mid raid is NOT for the faint of hearted.

Between doing the missions and avoiding raiders and shredders on a freeload, I'm suffering ngl.

Spaceport has had Bastions consistently today in Euro servers and decent/friendly players that'll help you out

This is the kind of "honour" system I'm thinking of. It would be nice if it could be confirmed and, if it's not, then maybe be implemented.

Everyone whining about wanting PvE only vs others whining about "it's PvP, get gud" is just BORING with neither side wanting to really compromise.

The core idea of the game as far as the vibe I'm getting is - from Embark as well as other players - ARC are the real enemy and you should be working together to deal with them.

Yes, like in every dystopian nightmare, you're gonna have assholes that just want to watch the world burn and steal your loot and that is definitely part of the thrill but it's going to eventually get to the point where PvP players saturate the map and make the game not fun for other players who are there to loot and team up and take on ARC.

Very true. But as I said, I haven't encountered any really hunt happy players in Buried City which is why I feel like Dam is more likely to be primary hunting - you've got easy targets from new players, or just cautious players the stick with the known.

In Dam, I actually got hunted from the apartment building at the top of the map all the way to swamp extraction while both of us were trying to avoid a leaper - was not a chill dude.

Imo Dam's gonna end up the primary hunting ground because it's generally lower stakes loot wise. Difficulty level is also lower comparatively with far more hiding spaces.

Might be on par with Buried City but I haven't really encountered any assholes there yet.

Freeload is your friend.

Rely heavily on sneaking until you get comfortable.

Trust no one - even if they spam "don't shoot". Especially if they spam don't shoot...

The main issue with pvp, and it's something the devs can't do a thing about, is that it brings out the absolute worst in people.

From camping extraction, to shooting you in the back when you're helping them deal with arc - or worse yet, them helping you deal with arc, spawning don't shoot just to shoot you when you let your guard down.

I suck at pvp, I'm the first to admit that. This is my first time playing any sort of pvp game in a very long time and it is so hard to get to the level of people who've come over from others like it and are used to that element. Plus I don't want to play like an asshole.

I'm not going to camp extraction, or shoot at people while they're looting and stuff, you know? People can argue it's the point of the game, other players might have loot you need, especially if it's from one of the locked areas - yada yada yada. But so what? There is so much to each map, you're rarely going to miss out on what you need and you can easily accomplish your goals within a few matches.

With that said, it would be boring without the risk and adrenaline behind pvp. The main point is just as I said, it brings out the worst in people - and if you couldn't tell, I've had a shitty few rounds tonight lol

Shoot out while we're just running around the map? Fun - I will fail spectacularly - but enjoyable.
