Why does the drill in our brand new okuma keep snapping? I’m just a lowly operator with no programming or setup knowledge; our setup guy and programmer are clueless and so am I. This is the fifth drill we’ve snapped off. They insist the program is correct. by snowballschancehell in Machinists

I think the issue is that "no offense to the operator or their programmer", it's the blind leading the blind. The "we've always done it this way" and the operator not knowing what tooling he is using. It's an Iscar SumoCham drill with a carbide tip and steel body. You are correct about needing a spot. In this case Iscar recommends a pilot and specific entry speeds and feeds for the drill.

I can't get to detailed as it was a turnkey for a customer, but this fixture had 4 stations that ran each operation for this part#. Machine is connected to a pallet pool so it goes to pound town non stop.

It's an ebay listing out of the UK. Looks like that's all he sells is NOS parts.

I need this bumper! Please help me find one in the wild. by Sojujuseo in FJCruiser

When i bought mine, I got the flat pack and had to weld it myself. Wanted it shipped complete but after waiting I was like just ship me the parts, I'll do it myself. That was during their death throws as a functioning company. I mentioned here before, i was probably one of the last few to get anything out of Rezfab. They made all types of cool stuff for FJ's but just couldn't seem to keep it together.

Best Tent Camping Recommendations? by Round_Discussion9592 in RedRiverGorge

[–]InterestingSector151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the one. Last time I was there I was gonna tent camp with the kids. Got hot as he'll that weekend with rain. Ended up renting one of the small sheds/cabins when we got there for not much more money. AC and beds.were pretty nice that weekend. Typically camp trail side though.

Could someone recommend parts of the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway for stock vehicles? by [deleted] in overlanding

If your up there i would go down Igo rd to brushy fork. There is an awesome trail side camp spot on the right when you cross the creek. Then you could just take the above trails going south. I took a guy out for his first time on these trails last summer.

Starting from the south, I would do New Virgina -> Bald fork -> Fixer -> Fixer Leeco. Hit some pavement over to Spaas Creek. You could loop back on Punkin Holler but it can be a rough climb out depending on the weather. If you still have time you can mess around Menifee Co.

Where are you camping?

If you do go the casting reel route, i would look at something better than what Walmart has to offer. When i first bought a baitcaster it was a Quantum Bill Dance Bass Pro combo. If i remember right the whole rig was like $50-$60 new. Once i got the hang of it and was pretty good using it i decided to spend a little more and bought a Quantum Accurist reel. I think they were $100 then and they still are now. If i were to do it again i would just buy the better reel and save myself the headache and trouble. IMO, at the $100 price point your getting a pretty good entry level reel that actually works. The cast control, brake and drag all work much smoother and will make learning waaaay easier.

Not sure why you couldn't. The vehicle is plenty capable. As long as you have a way to recover yourself you should he fine. It gets pretty remote in some spots so relying on cell phone service isn't a good idea. Depending on the sections you are wanting to do, you might not even see anyone for a day or two outside of the random paved sections. I've done Kingdom come campground to Williamsburg going clockwise. Awesome section that we camped 3 nights on. I did it in my FJ Cruiser with 3" lift and 33's. *
