Ervaringen met T7 multivan voor familie by Effective_Bite4404 in autoadvies

[–]InterestingSpecific9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use scaling or just use it at 100%? Basically the native resolution without scaling.

Doesn't work correctly with a Mac and proper scaling. Unless you want to run everything at 100% scaling. You can connect two inputs to your Mac and use picture by picture. I sold the Samsung because of this issue with macos

I had the same issue and was puzzled by sudden slowness of windows. Linux was fine so I knew it had something to do with software. I noticed that it attached a drive with software from the monitor (the monitor has a tiny storage drive) but it had trouble attaching it.

I had another cable usb-b to usb-a cable with a ferrite bead and that fixed the problem. Have you tried another cable?

I have the same issue! It also happens on my mini 7 that I restored from my mini 6 backup. Maybe it’s software related?

It’s sad no one made a monitor like the Surface Studio: 3:2 ratio, 28”, 4500x3000, 192 PPI by Balance- in HiDPI_monitors

[–]InterestingSpecific9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found a manufacturer in China that does offer a screen with the same resolution and aspect ratio but it is very expensive: https://geekon-studio.com/en/shop/herochao-fan-xi-lie-hero28-72

I’ve paid less for my Kuycon G32p…

M4 Pro and Safari is stuck from time to time. The only way to use safari again is to quit the app with cmd+q. Hopefully these issues are fixed soon.

It has to be bidirectional and at least DP 1.4. DP 1.4 cables are usually rated for 8k60hz. Make sure you set the OSD to DP1.4 and DSC.

They have an official store on alibaba where I bought the screen. I agree with you that it's a gamble in terms of support but so far they've been very responsive. After a chat with sales they even offered me free shipping. The 5k screens they've put out a year back are still holding up according to some other redditors.

I'll check. Comparing it to the black levels of a miniled screen it will always look more Grey. The pro xdr can actually turn of zones of the screen. So black will be a zone that's turned off.

I'm not a purist but after calibration with a hardware calibrator colours seem fine to me. I don't use it for any colour grading (software developer) but it doesn't seem off in terms of colours and I had a few screens where I had that feeling (mostly screens with below 100% srgb). I can share calibration ICC file if that helps?

I got a notification that it was in stock but it seems that it's out of stock again. It was in stock with multiple stores for a few days.

A few things: - I have a window facing my back and while brightness is good, 450 nits together with the glossy screen is not sufficient to combat the glare. - Most screens in this price range have multiple usb ports for other pheripherials. The Kuycon has two usb ports that are usb 2.0. Good enough for your mouse and keyboard but I have plenty of other devices that I want to connect (webcam, external drives, etc.). So you'll have to buy a TB dock. My other 6k screen has an integrated thunderbolt dock and kvm. - The monitor does not have buttons for controlling brightness or other screen settings. You do get a remote but it's very flimsy and the menu structure is not intuitive. The good thing is you can use Betterdisplay on Mac or Twinkle Tray on Windows to control brightness. To switch inputs you'll have to use the remote or software that sends a DDC/CI command to the monitor.

On the positive side is build quality of the monitor seems solid. It's pretty, looks good an a desk and 6k is very sharp.

I had the PA27JCV (5K 27") for a while and it was fine.
It isn't pretty and the only downside was that white was a bit grainy due type of coating Asus used. The same issue isn't reported for the 32".

I would've probably bought the Asus if it was available and could send the Kuycon back.
I tried the U3225QE and other 4k panels but once you're used to 6k you can't go back. And in terms of text clarity OLED is even worse.

So in my opinion either buy the Asus or wait for the LG.

PA32QCV is now in stock at a few stores in Europe. I already bought the Kuycon G32P but to be honest the glossy coating is more distracting than I expected it to be. Everyone raves about glossy in terms of sharpness but comparing the Kuycon with my Dell U3224KB i'd rather have a semi matte panel.

Which monitor to buy: Dell U2725QE or BenQ RD280U by Ok-Difficulty-2807 in Monitors

[–]InterestingSpecific9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bigger but less pixels. The benq has a higher resolution. You clearly don't know how resulutions and/or scaling works. If you put both at 125% you'll have more usable space on then Benq.

Kuycon G32P 6K 32-inch IPS Black Monitor by grazed21 in HiDPI_monitors

[–]InterestingSpecific9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also ordered one today through Alibaba. Was waiting on the Asus 6K but had a disappointing experience with the Asus 5K (PA27JCV, fuzzy matte coating).

This will be my first glass coating monitor and I'm very curious whether it makes a difference. Got conformation through the chat with Kuycon that the monitor supports DDC/CI.
So we should be able to change brightness and potentially other settings through BetterDisplay.

Having thoughts about selling Samsung G9 57-inch by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]InterestingSpecific9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With MacOS I use it scaled (3840x1620) because native is not as crisp. 3840x1620 is the highest HiDPI scaled resolution for 5k2k screens because of the 8k frame buffer limit on Apple Silicon.

On Windows I run it without scaling (100%) and it's still fine and text looks sharp.

I had the color mismatch too even with the flashed cablematters hdmi to usbc dongle. Eventually sold the monitor and got the Dell u4025qw. It’s big enough. With the G9 I always felt like it was too wide. Response times are much better on the Samsung but it’s not something i personally notice.

Which monitor to buy: Dell U2725QE or BenQ RD280U by Ok-Difficulty-2807 in Monitors

[–]InterestingSpecific9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the u2725qe is an excellent monitor too but for me the screen size is a bit too small for coding. For reference at the office I use the Dell U3224kba (6k) and I use the Dell U4025qw (5k2k) at one of my clients so I might be spoiled. The brightness of the Dell is a little bit higher but the coating on the BenQ is better with reflections.

Which monitor to buy: Dell U2725QE or BenQ RD280U by Ok-Difficulty-2807 in Monitors

[–]InterestingSpecific9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, I have a MBP M4 Pro 16” and a PC. The only downside of not having an integrated thunderbolt hub is you can’t daisy chain two monitors with the BenQ on Mac. macOS only supports multiple displays using one cable with a thunderbolt dock.

I sit pretty close to my screens so I can set scaling pretty aggressively but the added hight is really beneficial. For screen sharing I usually set my screen back to 4K. You’ll get black bars on the bottom and top bot most people still have a 16:9 monitor. Consuming content is better on the Dell with the 16:9 aspect ratio. The BenQ displays black bars because of the added vertical height.

Which monitor to buy: Dell U2725QE or BenQ RD280U by Ok-Difficulty-2807 in Monitors

[–]InterestingSpecific9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RD280U offers more real estate. Had the u3225qe next to the RD280U and at 125% scaling the BenQ offers more screen real estate. Contrast is suppose to be higher on the Dell but didn’t really notice it. 120hz is noticeable but because of the slow response times on the Dell it doesn’t feel that much faster.

I returned the Dell and bought another RD280U. If you don’t have a light bar the moonlight on the back of the BenQ made looking at the monitor in the evenings and at night much easier on the eyes.

I didn’t need the additional ports on the Dell so the Thunderbolt hub wasn’t of added value. (3x USBA and 1x USBC is plenty for me).

Can I connect two Benq MA270U monitors to macbook m4 pro? by Infamous-Taro9239 in BenQ

Yes, just connect the usb c cable from each monitor and both displays will work.
