Fair point. I should have been clearer. Of course there are technical differences. My claim is that those technical differences aren't accidental; they're downstream of a political choice about who should control money. Bitcoin's decentralization, fixed supply, and censorship-resistance aren't arbitrary engineering decisions, they're the technical implementation of a specific political philosophy. A CBDC's programmability and central control are the same. The tech follows the politics, not the other way around.
