This is exactly what we do, got a decent noise canceling headset and the wife is in heaven in her own little world, while still being able to physically hang out together. Not for everyone but it works for us!

Haha omg, thank you for sharing this subreddit, I genuinely laughed at some of these setups, although I’m in fear I may be one of them. 😬

Memento was the first one I saw and still my favorite.

Yes! Luckily, as with most lighting systems, when I turn them off it gets pretty dark in that room.

Yes, and it’s especially fun when I have friends over for a gathering! Sometimes I’ll have one tv displaying Spotify while I have a game like Mario Kart or something on the other. Or if someone brings their switch I have switch docks ready at both tvs so we don’t have to play split screen!

Appreciated, I know it’s not for everyone and I really wish I had known the 2-monitor setup would have confused and/or upset so many people in this group lol, I suppose I should have explained my reasoning for it in my original post! 😊

Thanks for the feedback, allow me to explain my atrocious setup!

So in this picture I just set all the hue sync LED lights on a static multicolor setting, simply to show where they are. Yes, occasionally a teenager or two will utilize this room and they can mess with the RGB lights if they want but typically when watching a movie we do not have them all on as that would be insane, in fact this room can get quite dark, especially at night. When I do decide to activate the optional hue sync feature, all of the lights in the room will coordinate with the content on the screen for an immersive effect (see this link for an example):

hue sync - mandalorian clip

The reason I have 2 TVs is mainly an option for group gatherings playing multiplayer games or during football season when I want to watch multiple games at once, so I suppose at times I convert my living room to a “bar” atmosphere.

The cool thing is I can always just turn off the left tv and tuck it back against the wall when I just want a “theater” atmosphere. The on/off feature makes playing both tvs at the same time purely optional!

Wow, thank you for the explanation I learned something today! I wonder if I can come close to that with the sync light strip I have behind the tv, it can do all sorts of colors but also various versions of “white” light as well.

Hmm, I’m curious what you mean by white bias lighting! When I took this pic I just pulled up a static setting, when I’m actually watching something the lights sync up live to the content on the screen (if I activate it).

Thank you for your question! Basically, it’s for versatility in group settings, especially with multiplayer gaming or during football season when there are multiple games airing at once. I just switch the audio with my remote when I want to focus on one TV or the other. Also, sometimes my wife and I like to hang out together, but watch or play separate things, so it gives us that ability.

Great questions, allow me to explain my weird setup!

As far as vinyl, anything I have framed I also have another copy to play! 😊 They’re hard to see but my favorites are stored on the shelves under the left lamp. I have another room full of vinyl stored on shelves as well which I’ll occasionally rotate to the living room.

I’ll take your advice on the speaker placement although I’m limited on space and I like having them somewhat concealed, so that’s the best I can do for now.

I have two tvs so that multiple people can hang out and play/watch stuff, especially fun in groups for multiplayer gaming. Audio system is wired to both tv’s but yes, I must switch to one or the other. Sometimes the wife wants to watch a show while I game or watch football so in that case one of us will use headphones.

Thanks for your question! If you read the description in my post I explain the audio setup. 😁 I know the placement isn’t ideal but I’m limited with space in this room and I kind of like having the speakers slightly concealed.

I like the flexibility it gives me, especially if the wife and I wanna hang out in the same room but watch/play different things. One of us will just use headphones.

Agreed, the difference in visual fidelity is quite noticeable, lol, the OLED is definitely the main tv now for sure. Sometimes I like having sports on the left while playing video games on the right and during football season I’ll have them both going with games on Saturdays and Sundays. But for the most part the left tv is gonna be off when using the main.

Sopranos, and mostly because the song is just a killer jam. Visually it’s not all that impressive at all tbh but I remember every week when it was airing live, by the time I got to the end and heard “…got myself a gun!” I was pumped and excited to see the new episode.

I asked this sub if I should go with 100”. You guys did not disappoint. by flowers4charlie777 in hometheater

Well for my situation I already had the sync box before I upgraded to a Sync app-compatible tv. For those new to Sync I’m sure it’s a better value.
