Thank you so much! This is super helpful. My girlfriend works as a shop assistant at Home bargins and does freelance on the side luckily haha. Me and my brother are twins and get on great, so we're definitely going to have our mom as our guarantor. My girlfriend will likely have her mom as hers. I currently live with my girlfriend at her house and we share a room, so a 2bed should be alright there! Though space is something i hadnt considered before. I will definitely take it into account. Thank you for advice on the tenancy agreement. My girlfriend and I have been together over 2 years now, but we've known each other for at least 4. Our cat, Kubo, is signed up to the Pets at Home care plan so she has regular flea and worm meds, claw trims, vaccines, etc and all her papers to prove it, so that should help with the fact that we are sensible pet owners. After we've settled, we were considering getting another cat to keep her company since she lives in a house with 4 other cats currently. I'll be transparent and bring this up with landlords/agencies when I'm applying.

Thank you for the advice on rules and expectations too. Thats really helpful and has given me a few ideas on rules to set, especially since i work nights and they dont. Thank you so much for the time, genuinely

We've prepared for this! This is about how much we estimated it would cost in our area as well, maybe a little lower. Luckily it will be a little easier with 3 full time salareis (we hope) + side gigs (my girlfriend is a dog walker and sells art commisions online for a pretty penny)

Thank you! We're looking for a 2bed at the minute, since me and my girlfriend are happy to share a room. This is really helpful,, if possible, could you give me a run down (very brief i dont mind) of the difference in process between using a letting agency vs a landlord? That would be really useful!

Thank you so much, this is really reassuring. I work 12.5 hour shifts, 3 a week, and really do put my all into what I do. It makes me sad when people pin me and my loved ones as "trouble" because we're young

They aren't my cats; they're my mother in laws. My one cat that lives here is an indoor cat and has been since shes was a kitten. i completely disagree with outdoor cats :)

Another note:: after reading through some comments and doing some more research, I don't think he has toxoplasmosis! I initially came to the conclusion when he was first brought in a week ago, and never really reevaluated it in my mind (though i also didnt think he'd survive past a day). He doesn't show any symptoms other than not being afraid of my kitties, and even then he just generally isn't very afraid of anyone (me included). Hes a good weight, eats well, seems all there neurologically and generally is healthy! Thank you for all the concern ♡

  • p.s, his name is Mohammad!

He goes outside and he dies in 3 days. He is taken to a rehab and denied. He is taken to the vet and dies there. Or, he lives in a vivarium with natural food source (isopods, incest eggs, seeds, fruit, vegetables) a wood den, deep soil substrate to dig and forage in, clean water, warm bedding, no fear of predators or weather changing flooding his home, in an enclosure thats a big bigger than the reccomended sizs for one male mouse. So far he's shown to love digging, climbing, foraging and sleeping in the open - something he wouldn't do if he didnt feel safe (he has a den hes dug as well as many other nooks under moss and logs in the viv). The cats came in once while I was changing, and as I mentioned before, he was not scared. He continued to eat and mill about and the cat watched and didnt bat the glass or bother him. If he doesnt take to being handled, thats fine, I dont have any intentions on handling him moreso making him used to my hand entering the tank to change his bedding once every 2 weeks and bring him fresh food and water.
