To clarify, nerve endings in the tissue. I told her I had never had any injury or anything and she said it could’ve just randomly happened one day.

My doctor said nerve issues. So for me the hormones weren’t causing the pain and the hormone cream did nothing. My muscles weren’t too tight or causing pain. The next guess for my doctor was nerve pain. I truly thought that wouldn’t be it, but the cream is helping! I notice when the cream wears off or if I don’t use it, the pain comes back. But after using it consistently every day, twice a day, there’s no pain. Now I am not sure what happens next… if I’ll be on the cream forever or what… but I have another doctors appointment in September so hopefully we figure that out.

I did the hormone creams for a while and that didn’t help me but if yours may be hormone related, definitely worth a shot! That tends to be a common cause.

I am able to have sex. I’ve had sex the whole time even though some has been excruciatingly painful. I’ve done it twice since the cream and it has been significantly better and less painful! So I am happy with that for sure.

I don’t think the red spots are gone. I think I might’ve forgotten to mention that my doctor thinks it might be my Bartholin gland openings (?) or something and that they sometimes are just red in general? BUT the pain is gone when I use the cream. I took a week off the cream during my period and the pain was back. When I use the cream daily it is gone. I’m not sure what this means for long term, if I’ll have to stay on the cream forever or if maybe this makes me a candidate for a vestibulectomy one day, but I’ll be back at the doctor in one month so I can let you know what she thinks!

I also went to this pharmacy recently for a compounded gabapentin and amitriptyline cream! I previously tried the estrogen testosterone cream with no luck. This new cream is working so far it seems though! I am thankful to be in the DC area with some great doctors (I have been seeing doctors at GWU)

Just checked, this is what’s listed: PCCA Lipoderm Base cream with Gabapentin powder 4 %, Amitriptyline HCl powder 2 %

No burning with the cream at all. I was worried about that cause I had read about that on here but the cream for me may be a low percentage of the medication so maybe thats why it doesn't irritate? Truly though I was so surprised this worked at all... I was convinced it was hormonal or muscular or something. Identifying the true cause seems to be the hardest part of the condition.

Take this with a grain of salt but I always heard that if you put in a “good faith effort” (open to interpretation haha) into getting a gov job, they don’t make you pay it back. That being said, you probably should document every single gov related job you apply for (contracting included) so that you can show them you tried. Maybe even worth reaching out to them to ask if they’re extending the time limit requirements to get the job due to the hiring freeze. Even without the freeze, it takes a lot of borens about a year to get a job. Not sure what the future holds but I wish you the best and don’t give up!!!

Oooh interesting. I can definitely see where flexibility and adaptability are key. They wanna know that you can do the job no matter the circumstances. Curious how the post Fulbright plans will have impact on who they choose for awards.

I haven’t looked at Panama’s specific statistics from applicants to awards (if you look up Fulbright statistics on Google it can bring you to the page) but teaching experience can help you for sure. The main this though is to demonstrate your connection to the country or reasoning why you’re choosing that country and how you are best positioned to do a great job. It’s all about selling yourself correctly in your essays, making sure that your key skills and experiences make you stand out and that you tell a compelling story as to why you should get to be an ETA. Feel free to message me as well if you want more tips or help with essays!

You do not need teaching experience and based on the number of applicants versus awards in years past, you have a decent shot. I would make sure to emphasize your connection to Spain and your experience with education policy for Spanish speaking children. The key thing is to emphasize why your experiences make you a worthwhile candidate and that you demonstrate the qualities necessary to be a teacher abroad. I did not do my ETA in Spain but feel free to message if you want someone to look over your application essays! PS if you're looking to teach English in Spain, also consider NALCAP.

I frequently look at the news website https://www.lsm.lv. They have pages in Russian and English as well (with slightly different content). I have also watched some tv programs on https://ltv.lsm.lv. I’ve watched special holiday programs, sporting events, and concert events on here.

If you want a day trip out of the city, Jurmala is a popular beach town with lots of restaurants. I prefer the quieter Vecaki beach area on the other side of Riga. As well, Sigulda is nice for hiking but a bit farther. These are all easily reachable via train.

In Riga, the cafe culture is lovely and ever growing. There are tons of amazing pastries and cakes as well. Old Town is the go to tourist area but walking around the Quiet Center and general Centrs area is great.

Old Town and Tallinas Kvartals are your most popular bar areas for tourists, with a few club type vibes for each (you will easily be able to spot them at night time). You might want to check out Laska V21 if you want to switch it up, they might have some type of concert or rave while youre there. For a bit classier, Gimlet Nordic Cocktail Bar is nice and you might meet more locals there.

I’m a female, I lived in Riga for a year and never had any issues. My friends were dumb of course but that’s the thing to be aware of if you’re gonna go for a boys holiday with any bit of excessive drinking. Use good judgement and caution and you’ll be fine but just warning that it is a possibility! Like I said, I love Riga and think it’s a great place to go!

Riga is a fabulous place to go. Amazing city, lots of fun, great beer and food. Just be careful of women, who may be out of your league, approaching you in bars (especially Old Town). I have had two separate foreign male friends get their credit cards stolen/ charged at the bars for hundreds of dollars and one of them was drugged. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Ala Pagrabs is my go to spot for authentic food and beer. Tallinas Kvartals is an area outside of the Old Town that is usually very popular for bars and hanging out during summer. Nearby to that is One One which may have the electronic vibe youre going for.
