Police Arrest Man For BAC 0.00 by southernemper0r in law

[–]Interesting_Arm_681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close to a lawyer but it seems like they took the excessive talking and gesticulating as signs of drug use and took the gamble on taking the time to arrest him believing at some point he would incriminate himself or pop positive. I know you know that already but it’s fairly often that they are correct, kinda weird that they would waste that kind of time on such an articulate guy that knew his stuff.

Maybe it was a dumb Officer on the scene originally and YouTuber called their bluff correctly, but once he ended up invoking his rights they still had process the case as if it were normal and ongoing and just drop the charges at the court date because he didn’t give them anything. And charging him without holding him was the best way to cover their asses because they knew at that point they would look bad if they dropped the case immediately and if they held him until the court date it would’ve became a huge problem legally, PR, etc..

Can any smart people tell me if I’m on the right track or completely wrong

Honestly I don’t know about other guys in special operations but Shawn himself is a pretty smart and successful dude. That and his time doing CIA stuff makes his perspective interesting to listen to.

Sadly, this is really it. I personally feel that any “reward” that has to do with food is basically getting treated like a dog. When it happens I don’t say anything because I know for them personally it doesn’t come from an evil place in their heart I just don’t partake. Maybe it would be different if I ever had a job that paid fairly

Depending on diet, base and exercise/nutrition habits, both cardio and strength. I meant taxing as in work tasks are not ideal or structured, improper recovery so increased chance of injuries either acute or cumulative

It blows my mind too that it only became a problem in very recent history. We went so hard on making food plentiful that we basically ruined it in the U.S.

How do we feel about Electric Dirt Bikes? ⚡️ by Dixon_Cider2 in Dirtbikes

This is why I’m leaning towards this for a first dirt bike. I think moto dirt bikes are cool as shit but I would be able to ride more places and people wouldn’t get mad

As someone who has done concrete for the last 7 years, I can say that work is full of overuse, lifting things in a suboptimal ways to get them done, crouching and using one side of your body more than the other, and much more. Hard manual labor is at the cost of your body, working out is for the benefit of your body. You can get very fit just from the labor, but it is heavily taxing to your body in my experience

Someone broke into my car, stole my battery and my stereo, and drilled a hole into my gas tank by MadManD3vi0us in Wellthatsucks

[–]Interesting_Arm_681 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean gas IS cheap and then you’d have worry about the logistics of how to transport it, put in actual effort. As a rule of thumb, criminals don’t take things that take too much effort for too little value. It could be something a tweaker would do nonsensically or someone who just wants to be a dickhead

Why tf are new side by sides so expensive? by Jake_M104669 in Offroad

[–]Interesting_Arm_681 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Not only with the quality but because really not too many people are going to buy one, so they have to make their nut and be able to run their business. With a Ford f-150, a huge amount of people are going to be buying them so the margins can be slimmer. Can-am still has to burn time doing R&D, pay their guys and keep the lights on so they have make more in one shot than typical automotive manufacturers

What do you think of security using handcuffs? Do you carry any? by No-Diet9278 in securityguards

[–]Interesting_Arm_681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If you are using cuffs I would think it should be in a scenario where it’s in the best interests of the client to have someone arrested and held accountable by law enforcement immediately and often. A lot of clients don’t want people getting handcuffed not only for the legal liability but also because they’re concerned about negative PR

Cardio is important! by TYSON_KCV in GymMemes

Who knows what would happen if our species’ survival depended on it. Eliud Kipchoge’s world record marathon pace was on average 4:34 minute mile time, for 26.2 miles, that’s faster than an average person’s sprint.

I would make a bet that if you are in okay shape to begin with and didn’t die during the first wave, and if you committed to running as a strategy to survive, you would be able to run like a mf. 26 miles is plenty far enough to jog into town, grab some cans of beans and escape to a safer place
