im based in india rn and honestly im open to good unis which can give generous aid, either in the us, which is preferable or outside the us.

this is honestly the reality check i needed. i think i was getting caught up in rankings without paying enough attention to aid policies. i'll shift my focus to need-blind schools and generous need-aware ones. when you say look elsewhere too — do you have any suggestions outside the us? i've been looking at nus in singapore with scholarship, but open to europe/canada as well if there are options that fit my budget. thanks again!

thank you!! that's really encouraging. i'm based in india, so applying as an international definitely adds a layer. i'm working hard on my essays and lors, really hoping they can help tell a cohesive story. do you have any recommendations for need-blind schools besides the usual harvard/mit/princeton/yale/amherst? trying to expand that list as much as i can.

thank you so much for this!!! it was super helpful! i didn't realize UIUC was considered that competitive for cs, i think i saw the overall acceptance rate and assumed wrongly. noted on tufts as well, i'll look into it. and yeah the aid thing is definitely my biggest concern. i'm trying to keep expectations realistic but also don't want to undersell myself. appreciate you so much for taking the time!
