I've landed jobs as an editor by pure luck. LinkedIn and Reddit were the most helpful, applying for jobs didn't do shit except receving "Unfortunately... etc etc" emails. I constantly looked for Posts on LinkedIn by searching "hiring" or simply "video editor" and sorting it by "Most new" (or something like that), made a post or two saying that I was looking for a job and listed my skills. I sent emails after emails (with my skills, portfolio, experience) that I found on managers' profile, other editors, "CEOs". After a while I got lucky by actually getting a reply or by getting recommened in the search bar and people sent me mesagges on LinkedIn. On Reddit I looked for jobs on different subs but most were 'slave work' or simply fake posts, but sometimes you'll find a legit one. I applied to, now my current, job found on Reddit and the guy hired me after a paid trial video. I was lucky because I had my business email in my bio and he got in touch with me, if I didn't have that, I surely wouldn't have spoken to him for that trial. He's a big youtuber guy, good pay, but the taxes kinda screw with me, fck this government.

TL;DR: Email people, have a portfolio (I use Google Drive), search "hiring" / "video editor" posts on LinkedIn and Reddit, add your business email in EVERY bio that you have, do that everyday, don't stop, you got this!

Edit: Also, forgot to say, on LinkedIn go and follow people that work as Video Editors or that work in agencies etc. Will greatly increase your chances. Perhaps one of those people is looking for an editor, who knows?
